God no they are sh***te. They pick up the radio lol. Ive got the ipod lead, wondered if anyone had any tips of where to run the wires and sit the ipod.
I use an iTrip with my iPod and generally don't have any problems with it picking up the radio - you just pick an empty frequency to broadcast on.
You can get either a Denison or Connects2 kit (same thing different manufacturers) that connects via the auto changer socket on the head unit and then have the dock connector for the iPod in the glove box if you don't want to use a FM transmitter.

im doing the same, my aura cd head is prewired for a cd changer, im getting the ipod connector, £99! and plug it in to the cd changer cable, in the glove box.

i've got an ipod headunit. mentioned it in a thread a few weeks ago.

I fitted my ipod into the glovebox.
I ran the cables through the back of the gloebox and into the aura hu.
I had to get a hole cut out in the back of the glovebox so I heated up a bit of copper pipe and burnt it through.
You will need to take out the glovebox (torx head drivers). You will need to take off the panel on the passenger side of the dash (open pass door and you'll see the panel with a sort of triangle pointing to were to open it from).
Theres 1 torx screw at the bottom right of the glovebox in the pass footwell.
There is also 3 or 4 torx scews at the top of the glovebox that need taking out (open the glovebox and you'll see them). You'll need a stumpy torx driver for them or a short torx driver.
You will also need to take the HU out so you can plug the ipod connection in.
Put it all back together and voila! job done.
All your cables will be out of sight and it'll look standard.

I was asking why people keep them and spend £100 odd to have the ipod adaptor when they could get an ipod ready HU for the same price, no need to insult what car I can afford.
People seem to have problems with safe mode on them and the quality of the sound, which is why I don't understand the need to keep them other than for cosmetic reasons.

it is true that the aura isnt brill but if it helps anyone. Seat sell the ipod leads for about a ton. Just replaces the CD changer however although you have some control over everything from the HU i'm led to believe that you cant see any info on the headunit e.g. track title, playlist etc if anyone can correct me on that i'll go out and buy one now!!
replacing your HU will make a MAHOOSIVE difference to the sound. i was in a mates the otherday and was staggered by the improvement by upgrading the HU and its sometimes cheaper to do the ipod thing by getting a ipod rrready HU etc... but you can get good results from combining aura with some decent speakers so i'm told
