17" to 18" bolts

Hi everyone.
I'm changing my 225/45/17 17" wheels to 225/40/18 18" this week..
But i got a question in my mind..
Do i need to change the bolts (lugs) ?Do i need to put longer ones ?
Thanks for helps.

You will need longer bolts only if you use spacers between the wheel & hub.
Otherwise, standard bolts are fine.

I have 8.5 x 18" Audi alloys with standard bolts & they're fine.

jon that was a good answer for me but,i'm going to fit 18*8 ET 35 wheels...because of the ET 35 i might need longer bolts?

If these aren't standard VAG wheels You may need new bolts with different length end head type (cone instead sphere).

my friend said the standart bolts could be short for 18" et 35 wheels...
i dont know the exact answer

You sure ET35 work...my ET40's are pushing the limits. I'm sure I've read that ET35's won't go. If you've bought them already try holding them ontot he hub and see how many turns you can get out the lugs if it's more than 3 you should be able to generate enough tightness. And check for any arch issues
