Alright mate, It sounds very much like a vacuum leak somewhere. Check all your associated hoses again make sure all the clips are tight and there all connected properly. If in doubt put new jubilee clips on. Also, did you use new gaskets? When I did mine i used some loctite instant gasket on the throttle body and got a new inlet manifold gasket from the stealers (about £3 i think) Make sure the mating surfaces are clean and smooth, (give them a scrape with a razor blade). When your engines running get someone to sit and rev it and you can listen under the bonnet, you should get a good idea where the airs getting in/out.Hope you get sorted....

That could be the problem, 2 bits of metal put together no matter how smooth arent going to be 100% air tight, I reckon a bit of instant gasket will sort it, not had any trouble with mine since.

Possibly, if theres air getting in, your ECU will fire more fuel in to compensate and will lead to higher idling. Could also be your ICV, have you cleaned it out recently? They get gunged up with all manner of filth, take it off and rinse it through with some parraffin and give it a scrape with an old toothbrush, I had a problem with high idling, cleaned out the ICV and been OK since. Id do the throttle body first tho...

hi m8 your advise was 110% correct it sorted the problem out i put some sealant on and made sure it was really tight and it stoped the noise and stoped the high idling

thanks a lot m8 :D :D:D:funk:
