Does your Cupra smoke much out the exhaust?

Just wondering because mines got a decat and downpipe and rear exhaust and it smokes quite clearly where previous cars (albeit with standard exhaust) didn't smoke so much. Is this normal then? I'm guessing maybe because the exhaust has been disrestricted somewhat over standard? Or could it be a problem.

Thanks

Three times I've been sat say at a drive through and the temperature has gone up past the normal half way mark, but as soon as I drive off it goes back down to normal

What could case a poor mixture? Can it damage anything?

Mines gets to a bout 96 deg ish then the fans cool it back down, but you can't see that extra 6 deg on the standard dash i'm using an aftermarket gauge.

if you have a decat it will smell stronger due to no cat cleaning the exhaust fumes

dunno about your temp problems tho

If the car is not at the right temp the ecu gets the wrong signal to inject more fuel.
My mpg as gone up a nice chunk since having a new thermostat in also a new green top sensor that sends the signal to the dash and the ecu.

I think you might be onto something. I will have a look on vagcom tomorrow and find out the temperature. Is that when warm or? I'm a total noob at this

I also noticed a slight intermittent shudder from the engine on idle, what seems to be a very small misfire. Had it for some time and posted a thread. It's recently been serviced with new plugs, filters and oil but that didn't stop the shudder. This doesn't affect driving though. Maybe linked to the fuel mixture?

How much was the thermostat and top sensor - easy to fit?

Ohhhhh I just thought, the lamda sensor hasn't been mapped out since fitting the decat. Could that cause it to run rich?

Weird thing is mpg hasn't been particularly bad :|

I've also been told a boost leak can cause it to run rich, and would explain why my gauge is showing less boost :help:
