Cruise Control

Hi, was thinking on putting cruise control onto my cupra tdi. I was reading before buying that I should check if it is compatible by reving to 2000rpm and pushing on the brake and the revs should return to 0 for the cruise control to be compatible. Well i tried and nope it stayed at 2000rpm. Is there any way this can be enabled ? Heard its possible that a dealer could just do it in 5 minutes.

Thanks

Kirkcaldy!!
i don't think the revs will return to 0, what will happen though is the ecu will cut of the accelerator for a couple of seconds. you'l feel it as after you take the foot of the brake your car doesn't want to go anywhere for a couple of secs then its start accelerating :p

it just means you have the fly by wire accelerator which is needed for cruise.

afaik all tdi's are set up for cruise control. all you need is the stalk and the loom that goes to the bulkhead wire blocks!! use vagcom to turn it on on the ecu! thats what i did on my one anyway!!

If you hold the revs at 2000, and brake with your left foot the revs should go to idle, not 0. That shows your compatable. Try calling a few places and ask. They will tell you off you engine code i it can be done and how hard!

is there a guide somewhere for this?
- ive got vagcom but don't know where to enable cruise
- what stork do i need and wheres the best place to get it
- is the wiring already in place or do i need the loom and if so is it hard to fit?

I've got a flybywire 03 sport and desperately want cruise
