Yep today is the day :)

However i will have to keep you all hanging in suspense and i will be doing the same as i will be going to collect the car on sat.

I had a phone call to let me know all is going well but they would like some more time to try and tweak some more, so im fine with that.

Owing to the fact that this has not been done many times i would rather JBS/Custom Code had the car for a little longer so they can test and tweak a little more.

I bet that for the future once this has been done more and more map files have been modded that it will only take a few hours.

Im looking forward to getting my car back, will be interesting to see the MPG gain too.

I will come back on and update once i have the car :)

Im thinking about having a remap once ive had my 20k service which will take me to over 200bhp so really the thought of spending another £1k on top for another 20bhp or so doesn't sound that tempting really... although the better fuel economy would be a welcome bonus... if you could remap it to around 240bhp I could be interested but why not just buy a 2nd hand Cupra and get an inexpensive remap and save all the possible problems?

it will cost you 400-500 for a 20-30bhp remap so its not spending another 1k its only another 500.

also insurance will be less on a fr tdi remapped and tax will be cheaper

The time is almost here for Lee to collect his car so im sure we will see a write up at some point over the weekend when he has stopped driving it ;)

The £1000 for the DPF-OFF software and hardware will make a world of difference to the way the car drives, performs,MPG and will also eliminate all the DPF related issues.

The max bhp that the vehicle will see is dependant on the supporting modifications, although many people prefer software that delivers all of the above rather than high figures.

You can get a decent remap for less than £400 even with the option of removing it if you wanted.

Must have misread the other thread I thought it said £1k only if you already had a map from them, otherwise £1,300?

Whats a DPF issue JBS?

Might consider it when my car is out of warranty as it may be cheaper and easier then, anyone that has it done while in warranty is taking a big risk, especially if they have any kind of finance with Seat, if they have to recover it you might have a BIG bill to get it back

Not even sure I want it remapped yet anyway as its quick as :censored: as it is (I must be a lucky one thats close to 200bhp as standard) I might consider it if i ever get bored with the car...

I will be reading all the write-up on it like the rest of you whatever :D

You may be able to get a decent remap for under £400 but with the Custom-Code you are getting more than just a remap for the £1000 that is advertised

The £1000 is the price for the software and the De-DPF pipe,if you have had a Custom-Code Phase 1 then it would be £809.98

The DPF issues that most people are seeing are regeneration cycles occuring more often than expected, sensor failures and software updates from the dealers.

Lets hope you do consider it and have it done when your vehicle is out of warranty :D

Of all the 170PD's we have seen we have yet to come across 1 that makes in excess of 180bhp stock and with all the latest factory updates they are all coming out with approx 165bhp.These figures are equated from M/G's of fuel, boost and requested torque level taken from the stock ECU calibration figures.

Wont be long now
