Wastegates???? Chattergates????

sorry for being a noob on this subject i have searcehed and cant seem to find anything.
Wastegates on a lcr standard turbo, can you upgrade the wastegates.
i heard if its external it can be done but if its internal you cant do it.

has anyone done this on there standard lcr turbo or even can it be done?

i think its internal on the ko4 chap mine chatters too. saving for a gt28rs instead. should be a giggle!

Wastegate chatter is an urban myth........The noise is created by unspent boost recirculating through the turbo and being chopped up by the blades...hence the fluttery noises

this is true if its on gear change... in which case check your dv recirc valve. its either rubbish, fitted incorrectly or failing that, try taking vac from the plenum and seeing if that improves it (249 valve baypass)

if however you have a mechanical "rattle" type noise when holding the accelerator just on boost then that is waste gate chatter as the car doesnt know whether to boost or waste it
