Isn't the Quaife several hundred pounds more though? Bolts aside, is there any notable difference in their performance?

If you refer to http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=212027 it seems that this only happens when the bolts aren't torqued correctly - Backdraft, INA nor Jabba haven't seen any issues to date with the ones they've installed.

Quaife one isnt that much more once the bolts have been added to the price of the Peloquin aswell as the extra grinding required. Even if those tuners are saying they have had no faiures then why are the Quaife ones being installed elsewhere not failing aswell? And how do they know none they have installed have failed as you dont know they went back to them if it did. I would rather spend the few extra £s and have the peace of mind that failures of the Quaife are much more rare.

I take your point but surely if you had it fitted by "company x" and it went wrong that's the first place you'd take it back as a warranty issue? The Peloquin diffs now are supplied with ARP bolts although apparently they've had issues too.

Does the Peloquin require griding even before initial installation?

When the stronger bolts have failed the crown wheel not being ground flat when fitting the diff has been blamed so it needs grinding flat when the diff goes in. To be honest a failure is a failure and I have only seen posts about Peloquins going and not Quaife although Im sure they have probably failed in the past, just seems to be alot of Peloquin failures for whatever reason. Quaife is also a UK company so less problems with warranty and easier to deal with etc. For the small difference in price I know where my money would be spent.
