.... by swapping over the central convenience module it's just possible some extra functions could be activated?

how do you think we found out the cruise control codes, took 2 cars in stock side by side with same options bar cruise - one software code difference later and hard wiring - voila :)

may just be coding of the original unit if it's same part number but must confess there is quite a few options CCunit wise so would imagine there will be more to it

In which case is it worth compiling a model / sub model matrix of all the modules listed under vagcom - included in that being what options you have working on your car?

that would be a genius idea but a big document.

Do you mean like a family tree style? Would bea great idea as it *should* show a lot of things you need to know to open loads of options.

It's actually not that much work .... we'd just need a handful of people with Leon / Ibiza / Altea etc etc and we'd be away and laughing.

Why isnt there a Smiley that shows somthing going completely over your head - 'Whoosh' etc ;)

Each 'module' in the logging and control software that we use to talk to our cars computery bits has a module number / code. By comparing code numbers with what options are available, such as electric folding mirrors - you can see which control module is required to get a particular option working. Or you can read the individual code changes that need adding to other modules to allow that functionality.

I hope that makes a little more sense?

most of them from part number alone i could compile the basic options

elec mirrors/windows/front/back etc

its mainly a case of matching 2 numbered units with different soft coding and knowing what the difference means i guess
