One Wheel Tyre wear

:help:We have a 2008 Ibiza 1.9Tdi Sportrider and it is my wife's commuting cart. She has had it from new and it is now coming up to 10k miles.

Problem? The front nearside tyre ( Dunlop Sports OEM ) has worn on the inside 1/4 to a point that it is nearly illegal.

I have read that these tyres can be notorious for poor wear due to defects. The other three are excellent....just totally p**sed off that this has occurred.

Obviously my next move is a 4 wheel alignment. Just puzzled why just the one tyre is wearing like this.

ANY suggestions/ help greatly received and apologies if this has already been addressed...It's a panic post:lol:

Other than that a great replacement for the Leon 110 SX

Has that wheel been hit against a kerb? If it has been then it's most likely been knocked out of alignment, causing the uneven wear.

We have the same car (Both Sportriders 1.9TDI)
I bumped my passenger wheel into a curb as I mounted it.
Mine did the same thing.

Took it a garage had it sorted it was the alignment.

Thanks for the replies.

Just brought it back and the tracking was out by a bit. I must say in her defence that the alloys haven't got one nick on them - I know the tyre has a protecting ridge - but I'll give her some credit.
At least the lads in the garage only charged me £15. I'll let it progress now as I think once the tyres have started to go they will deteriorate quickly.

Only one more thing........ I find the Ibiza very noisy on the Dunlops and as we have a concrete dual carriageway near us it is almost deafening.

Has anyone changed to a different tyre and found the car quieter????? I use Toyo TR1's on my car and just wondering what to change over to for a bit of a quieter ride.
Thanks once more to those who replied.

I put goodyear eagle F1s on on they are abit better but not that much.

Mainly the Ibiza is just a loud car :(

one thing that has made a difference is the addition of sound deadening material behind the door cards front and back.

However it has to be said its still not a quiet car when you have a conversation with your passenger but it is a noticeable reduction after this addition
