lost me dave. I thought yours was 69.6 so if your code was written for that it would read normally, if it was written for a 72mm maf it would over read, so youd have less airflow than indicated?
I'm not sure why this would make you happy.

Just the stupid grin of bewilderment, John.

You and I did the figures last year and we thought it was under-reading - you were going to try one of your sensors in it to see the difference. However, it performed quite well at the Mk4vSCN Awesome RR day late last year. I have a Dastek RR day on Saturday, so I need to get it 'set up' this week with some logging and twiddling....
 
let me know how you get on with your MAF Dave, im quite interested in all this right now... its a very nice learning curve.

When i got back to work my housing was ready for me at 70mm bore. i think we are all thinking along the same lines now, it needs to be 72mm

i did run some logs on the way home and if you were confused about this before your going to be in a mess when you see this, i have been trying to explain it but i cant come up with a logical answer.

im not sure, ill give Nick a ring to find out, im sure it will be the weekend. it would be good to get a comparison but i would also like to get the housing bored while we are not too busy at work. if i miss an opertunity it will be the start of next month before he can do it again.

..... it does feel very fast like it is though, lets hope it gets better:funk: , i was going to push the timing more with unisettings but i will wait until im happy with the MAF

Fair enough. :) I've just re-read it all again for the nth time.

60 to 100 logging 066 is always a good reality check. It gets hard to tell what feels right, doesn't it - until you get it right - and then wow.... :D

EDIT: those logs are making good reading arent they Dave? i wish i could come up with an explanation.... i even stopped turned off and did another TBA and fault code reset to be sure.

2nd EDIT: Nick said he would post that MAF number tonight.

If it wasn't for all your other logs, you'd look at that one in isolation and think "wow". I don't get it as everything else looks spot on. I've thought of two or three things, but they don't hold water in light of other evidence.

3rd is always hairy with mine at any speed.

If logging is a chore sometimes, consider logging 066 as your treat, simple and fun. :D

if it wasnt for the MAF reading id be happy enough with those logs to call it a day and start playing with the wmi, @ 71mm im fairly sure we will start to see normalish figures

Reading your thread does make me want to go BT. TBH i think a hybrid would do me perfectly. i havent seen many good results from a hybrid but set up correctly im sure i could get a reliable 300bhp from one and a little more torque than i have now.

the only problem with treating yourself to a 66 is the rat race to work :(
i can go in at 6 though :)


i wonder if John will be as confused as us
