BoomhaueR have you taken the sound proofing of the bonnet ??? this will also allow you to hear it better.

How many holes did you put in?

I did a test drive and it's really loud! The DV is quite loud with a significant whooshing sound. Maybe I put in too many holes! Sounds good though!

I haven't taken that off yet. Are there any adverse effects?
You will get a bit of condensation on the inside of the bonnet but other than that no, You will hear the airbox and DV working better.

i cant member how many holes, just went mad really lol, how many holes you got in yours mate? will it be worth smoothing it out aswell?

You can drill as many as you like in the lower half of the box, as long as the bit that is engine-side of the filter has none! The lower half of the box can be made to look like a sieve if you want!!!
