ebc yellowstuff 4000 R series

the general forum favourites are Ferodo DS2500's, i've never read of anyone using yellowstuffs Hopefully theres someone who can give you a little more info

I use RedStuff, and I love them.

I know EBC is very good for pads in general, but I've never had YellowStuff, sorry.

Ive heard good reports about the redstuff, but greenstuff are meant to be far too soft and not much good. I think you need to keep the yellowstuff hot for them to work as they are a racing pad.

same as what i thought yellow stuff is for tracks, so unless your braking hard to keep the heat in them, they can be very dodgy when they cool off.

I have EBC Green stuff on my car (Furby vRS) and are OK. I don't know the feeling about green stuff on here, but on Briskoda people hate them, they insist Redstuff on the cars when choosing EBC.

When I spoke to someone from EBC when ordering the pads he said, Redstuff are for cars with more than 200 BHP and if you want a good upgrade pad, put Yellow stuff on it.

I was worried about this before I bought mine but even if ya drive really careful and you feel your disks they'll will be really hot.

I've had some yellow stuff on the front since November and they've been pretty awesome even in the cold. If it's icy you can't brake hard anyway!

Lot better failure for money than the red stuff. Don't notice the brake dust anymore either.

I had greenstuff on my classic mini, and when it nearly got written off round coombe due to brake fade, I ripped them out and put in Mintex 1144 (fast road pads). Made the world of difference. Just had a quick look and I dont think they do them for Ibiza's

i have used yellowstuff on the road and track in an audi s4 4.2 v8 with 8 pots 365mm (1600kg car 388bhp) and they are very capable pads espiacally for the money! used them on 2 track days (nurberg, spa)and found no fade and i brake very late and hard. they lasted six months if that helps and they were the new formula as i fitted them on the 5/08 these were only 14mm thick not the normal 18mm. replaced them with yellowstuff again for (cadwell, snet). the only thing you need to do is brake lightly as soon as you pull off to put a bit of heat on them then they are fine on the road! hope this helps

i have used ds2500 they are very good pads (better then yellow) but at £248 for front pads for the brakes i had vs £107 for the yellow stuff and not that much difference! and the they both suffer from brake squel by the way but a bit of hard braking and the glaze goes!

Yer I have greenstuff on mine and I'd say they are worse than the standard ones. And I won't be using them again.

DS2500 @ £248 What car was they for????? Ones for the AP's I can get for less than £100 delivered.

Ive heard nothing but bad things about EBC pads. Pad material cracking and breaking up etc.

I'm just putting my actual experience of the pads for others to read(fact against rumour)! i had heard bad things as well but then found out that they had been taken over and had reformulated their pads so i took a chance and was very pleased with the results and as you can see they were in a big heavy car with 388 BHP (rolling road not guess) and lots of track experience

£248?? what do you drive?
yellows are awefull pads, which for me wore disks severly in no time. used them once, they ate my disks, and never used anything ebc pad since on a car which i use my brakes on.
