Went for ferrodo DS2500's myself just waiting on there arrival  i had bought redstuff pads but due to the callipers being AP they wont fit so decided the only way to go was the DS2500, my friend also runs the DS2500 on his Focus RS and says he will never use another pad :D

I'm just putting my actual experience of the pads for others to read(fact against rumour)! i had heard bad things as well but then found out that they had been taken over and had reformulated their pads so i took a chance and was very pleased with the results and as you can see they were in a big heavy car with 388 BHP (rolling road not guess) and lots of track experience

The person who wrote above you wasn't speaking from hearsay.
He heard it from the horses mouth,
A Honda Civic Type R EP3 and a Clio Trophy both used these pads with a new set of disks.
Within months the pads literally broke up and fell apart and the discs were warped.

Ferodo's are the nominated ones from what I hear!

I speak from my own experience.. and am an EBC distributor, but I wont sell their pads over DS2500 ferodo's as they are simply not good enough. I could easily sell them, but I dont sell pads which dont work well just to sell stuff.

ebc pads have been poor... they're cheaper, and that has its own appeal, but for those who want genuine "upgrade pads" beyond the norm, then DS2500 and DS3000's are almost unbeatable

How much do you supply the DS2500's Bill all in? ('54 Ibiza TDI Cupra).

Depending on the price of the above, is there an alternative to the Ferodos? I can't warrant spending X amount of money on OEM pads, so I'm on the lookout for some aftermarket ones but I don't want to go OTT.

There was a thread on Briskoda a month ago that someone pointed out the the DS2500 do not comply with the legal Regulation 90 and therefore should only be used for track days. Briskoda - DS2500 "track day only" pads

Also mentioned is an Italian brake test (unfortunately written in Italian) pdf test here that tests EBC, Ferodo and others. For fast road use EBC Red comes out top, beating DS2500s.
