Anti-Roll Bar

Hello, car went in for its service on 26th they told me the front anitroll bar is corroding and it bushes are gone. I was thinking on using this oppourtunity to change both bars , any advice on what bushes and roll bar kits to use???

Both bars? Ibizas only have a single ARB up front...

I believe Jabba manufacture an uprated front ARB for the Ibiza. Powerflex make uprated bushes too. I went for the revised 21mm Skoda Fabia ARB with metal bush retainers which won't corrode so easily.

It's quite a job to change the ARB as the front subframe has to be dropped in order to get the ARB out.

To the OP - which means that now is a good time to fit Cupra TCA rear bushes and maybe even Powerflex front TCA bushes - as that is a crossmember dropping job as well!

cheers, i wasnt aware there wasnt one on the rear, i git quotes for eibach and whiteline kits too, anyone know if these are any good?

Ive got the adjustable whiteline on mine... Certainly feels much flatter when cornering, but not had a chance to put it on its stiffest setting on a track yet.

I have the Whiteline rear ARB (on the stiffest setting with coilovers ) and it does make a difference on standard suspension.

Coilovers... In theory it should make more of a difference with standard suspension.

Crossmember doesn't need to be removed when replacing TCA rear bushes. The bush consoles can be removed separately. But I agree that it would be wise to replace them at the same time.

The stiffest setting is a bit harsh over bumps on standard Cupra suspension as the ride is pretty stiff without it, but going round corners is good fun. Taking roundabouts flat out in 2nd and then lifting off gives some really controllable lift-off oversteer

IT should make it stick a bit better, and be more progressive when it finally brakes away (ie you can catch it).

It does if you lift off after giving it some mid-corner..Just give it some gas and counter-steer slightly to transfer the weight back....But I wouldn't worry about it...you have to push it quite a bit to get the back out, I've only done it once or twice while trying it out on a deserted roundabout. The real difference is the lack of body roll when taking corners at medium speeds such as turning into a side road.

i'm getting my ARB replaced under warranty! went in for 1st service and told them about knocking noise when car under steering lock and going over humps, pot-holes, etc. and SEAT found the ARB is damaged.

car is going in again on monday so should i try get them to put in Cupra bushes on on my FR? how much would they charge roughly?

Whiteline adjustable rear ARB is great, I can vouch for that! Even on standard FR suspension it makes such a difference, and I only have mine on the medium setting! Believe the hype on this one...

If you had money to splash about on the Mk4 Ibiza, I guess you would get:
Front strut brace (upper and lower)
Thicker front ARB
Rear ARB
Spacers for rear wheels.

Its only money...

Sorry to sounds dumb but you all seem to be talking about the Whiteline rear ARB is the originally post not talking about the front standard ARB corroding. Is it only Jabba who make a replacement aftermarket one for the front (the one that is v expensive if I am right as well)?
