It helped with mine no end, it increased g/sec and lowered duty cycle of turbo. I built mine using silicone hoses and only used a standard 3 inch metal coupler for the spouts. I think Forge do a standard 3 inch coupler with a 25mm dv take off. Ask them to weld on whatever other spouts you require and bobs your aunty. Make sure you use a reducer only on the collar and cut it tight so that immediately after the turbo collar 3 inch is seen.
All BT conversions all have a decent three inch intake. I strongly recommend this.

Right..

Spoke to mark @ cr Turbo today and the cause of The failure was High Oil pressure and Genral Exciff wear..

I said its done around 40k miles in total And he said it looks like its doen 150k+ miles,He said its had scored the inside, poor quality bearings & seals....He said he was discusted..!!

He going to full rebuild it for me...With new turbin/compressor and is going to Port & polish the entire inside of the unit for Free...:D

He said the inside of the Gt2x Cast wise it horrible....He said its really rough and it must cause really bad turblance ....

So all inside is going to be Really smooth and Larger too :D

Isnt even a hybrid either lol

Yeah He said It wasnt all that Clever tbh....Said something about the 1.8t runs around 3bar oil pressure thats what it does it over tiem

He has Seariously Recommended me to use a oil Restictor and told me to ignore Atp...

Yeah Its having
New Garrett Uprated seals,
New Journel Bearings & shafts
New compressor wheels,
Port and Polish Over Bore inside,
Clean and Oiled actuator
Cleaned wastegate
1.5mm oil restrictor..

Then Fully cleaned for £250 inc vat & P&p both ways...

Will get it made a hybrid another time...

He Doesnt rate the cast or quality off the Units For the Price that they sell it for....But he said how bad the casting was inside(He said It must of been really bad Drag/turblance inside there :D)

Bit of good and bad news..

Mark has full stripped it down and this is what he wrong to me via email...Ive no Paid for it and should be here tomorrow

Hi Danny,
The turbo will be ready today, it can be sent out tonight to be with you monday.(or saturday delivery is £20)
The overhaul was a little more than just the bearings and seals, the turbo has suffered some oil contamination causing damage to the shaftwheel. The wear on the shaft and bearings would have been what led to your smoking issues.
As we are changing the shaft and backplate as well as just the service items we are going to be looking at £295.
I will still include the modifying of the oil inlet and porting of the turbine housing. And the unit will be fitted with the uprated thrust bearing.
I would recommend flushing the oil and changing oil and filter before refitting the turbo.
Cheers
Mark

So i rang him up and hes added a larger compressor wheel for free to...as the price was more than id expected...

So its had

New Seals & bearings
New acutator spring
Port & Polished
Larger Compressor Wheel
360d Thrust Bearing
Bronze Bearings
Oil Restrictor
New Turbine
Larger Exhaust Hot side(ported)
New Nuts and bolts

He said the cause of the seals failer was Oil pressure and Oil contimate So either Matt_cupra or Beattie had something in there oil(metal) which at 60psi oil pressure had Eaten away My bronze bearing..SO the how unit had failed...

So its Kinda a hybrid but with a Clipped k04 wheel He said the Gt2x is far more advanced than any KKK range of turbo..He said a Gt2x Is basically a K04 Hybrid....But the Narrowness and rought cast would not help Spool/Gases to flow enough....

That guy Defo knows his turbos lol

He also Said the Gt2x is a very good turbo But the quality is shocking...He said the seals they used wernt efficant for a turbo...So hes using some wrc ones which are nice and thick..
