Dweeby Horn

Why does the seat ibiza 2005 Fr have such a dweeby horn!!

I mean i was trying to overtake someone on a back road nd they were driving in the centre of the road (you know sunday driving style). So i was giving them the horn to say are you doin let me past..... then the shame it sounded like a mouse wheezing.

Has anyone replaced their horn with something a bit more beefy? Cause i am struggling to find a horn that is loud and waterproof (cause of where the brightsparks at Seat have put it on the car, right at the bottom next to the fog lamp)

i call it the comedy horn mines the same it makes me laugh everytime i beep it when i see folk i know it makes me think of noddy lol.

its better then my old mk3 ibiza horn i used it about 3 times in my 4 years of ownership cuz of it

I thought the same and fitted the horn from a scrapped Passat, assuming it'd be deeper... instead it went from a *BEEP*... to a *BERRP*. Wasn't really worth it!

Though it did only cost a couple of quid lol. Try to find a horn from a car with dual horns, so it has a low tone and a high tone. That might sound better?

i think the mk4s have two horns so maybe if you disconnect one your get a louder beep i might be wrong but im sure it will have more current making it louder.

Its the same of my ibiza. They sound so gay when using it. Think you could sneeze louder.

There is only one horn on the mk4. You can buy dual horns, ie. Audi A4 horns, and fit them but you will need to mount the second horn horn and add some wiring.

You can listen to your choice before you buy.My fav is 'La Cucaracha'.People will certainly notice you behind them when you play your tune!.There's a guy round here got one with that tune,it always makes everybody smile.

they may sound dweeby from inside...but if you stand out of the car the mk4's horn is LOUD (still a bit high pitched though)

i got shocked when my godchild accidentally pressed it as i stood beside the car

On my prefacelift there was room behind the passenger fog light for a pair of Alhambra horns, they were plug n play. or you could fit one of these in there with plenty of space left.

It's a pair of air horns with a capacitor too, very loud and a compact size

that last one sounds like its from a freight train. lol

yeah i thought my horn sounded a bit sub standard. Might do some investigation to see if there are any upgrades but will be low in my list of things to do. But seriously guys people pay a lot more with ferraris and thier horns are way pants, think F355 and your horn will sound much better.

I fitted a replacement cost about £10 sounds a little better but nothing special, Audi two tone horns have been fitted by a couple of people on here don't know what Audi thou!

It is so embarrassing! I've looked into a new one, but theres just other things i wanna get round to doing first, in the mean time i tend to give gestures instead of beeping!
