That's a decent idea, I guess you can just leave it in the glove box and find your tracks on the head unit.

Got my 5th Gen iPod Video in the ashtray. Its out of veiw and in one of those silicon cases from eBay it does'nt rattle around.

That's perfect, exactly what I was after.

Just trying to hunt down a black Alpine Unit with Red buttons to match the LCR interior now.

Mine's an Alpine CDE-9850Ri. It came out not long after the dinosaurs left but it has served me well and I've no intention of changing it just yet. It is one of those "Made for iPod" units and, as you say you never actually have to touch the iPod. The buttons illuminate red aswell so it matches perfectly with the rest of the dash at night. Does'nt work with iPhone or iPod touch though, (I've tried) so make sure you pick the correct unit.

Just bought a leon cupra r and the last owner changed the head unit to a sony one. The cd changer isnt connected and i cant see any way of getting it to either. Can the cd changer fit a sony head unit?

i've just bought this head unit for mine, haven't installed it yet but it matches colour wise, does all ipods, comes with needed cables and has usb connections! I've had alpine units before and i swear by them - Alpine CDE-9882Ri bought from car audio direct only £150 if that helps at all.
