Hi,

I've got a 2003 (53) seat leon cupra fitted with the standard headlights but wanted something that is a little brighter! Does anybody have any specific places to look or recomendations?

Also I was thinking of remapping it and wondered if anyone has done it and is happy with the results?

Mick.

Yes mate loads but mine is a Cupra R, some of the mods are in my sig :D
There are lots of remapped Cupra's on here with good results, As your in the south east your best bet for a remap would be AmD in Essex, next to Lakeside.
You could see about 210-220 BHP depending what Turbo and Exhaust you have.
If your free on the 22nd of Feb were having a Rolling Road Day there so it would be a good chance to see what sort of gain's you would get, And you'll get 10% off on the day ;)

Got my LCR remapped last week with a custom code stage 1, i can't belive i didnt do it sooner!!! you'll really never look back after having it done!!

i was wondering about the headlights too, is there any mods that can be done? or is just buying really good lamps just as good?

im looking at getting some hids because the current lights are not very bright and one has been broke due to someone hitting the front offside of the car! was gutted so due to that im going to get the cosmetics sorted on it as if it looks like its just rolled of the production line again,

the remapping i am seriously going to look into and ive been told that i will be best geting a new exhaust air filter ect if i did to help the car out, also thinking of getting a turbo timer aswel?

im actually of then too so i might just pop along, you have the location ect? the rolling road is it to be booked before hand?

my LCR has a sort of turbo timer (oil pump for the turbo that you can hear humming away for 2-3mins after turning the engine off) its standard on mine, not sure about other leons

If you do the map first the ECU will adapt to the exhaust when you fit it.
Here's the detail's for the RR day, at the moment all the slot's are full but you might get on towards the end of the day http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=200116

all lc /lcrs have a coolant pump running after switch off... do you mean that? no leon has an oil pump running after switch off unless its modified?

turbo timers dont suit the leons ecu and you tend to get immobiliser/insurance issues

i guess thats the one, is that for cooling the turbo and/or engine?
i was told when i bought my car that a pump was for the turbo, it was a couple of years go now, and my memory isnt what it used to be!!!

yes mate. its for the turbo.
if you run the car very hard the turbo will glow red, switching straight off in this state will cause the oil thats standing in it to cook, even with the coolant still pumping so it still pays to run the last mile gently. :)

o i see about the lights, what it is its bent the wing in a bit and the bumber has a very small dint which then pushed the light back behind the bodywork and broke a few clips on it, so im guessing a new unit then the hids bulbs once fitted?

cheerz for the info on the meet and ill look into it and see if i can get in late like you say.

its just when i do puch my leon like you say ive been told and also the manufacturers manual also says leave the car running when you pull up for about two minutes and i do it but a mate of mine has his mr2 which he fitted the timer to keep it when he has got out saving you waiting for it, i actully bought it from a guy who deals in mercs and he was selling quick and quite cheep, its got full service history only two without seat, just alot of miles on the clock which i think maybe motorway miliage.

where does it say that in the manual? the mr2 would need a cool down period as afaik it doesnt have a coolant pump running after switch off.
