Been thinking about the Vrs plan and I don't think now is the right time! I am going for a new job soon and if I get it my mileage will be slashed dramatically... allowing more money for mods!

I even went to see another Vrs today but it wasn't great in lots of ways :runaway: Rear bumper was half hanging off and the drivers window did not even close (the bloke said it had just been cleaned and water can play tricks with the electrics!) :fool:

Nice one, Mike. I still aint got round to fitting mine  yet due to there still pack ice in my street. I cant wait to get it on now.

I also have a Seat Sport front strut brace coming too :D
Should make a good difference to the handling between the two of them..

Awesome! I think the RARB will make more of an impact than the front strut brace. I did notice something different when I fitted my strut brace though! [B)]

Will getting the "trumpet thingey" out the airbox on its own make any diffrence to pickup?, Bearing in mind mines a PD130 engine.

Luke

A note about this trumpet, I would defo keep it in place. Generally speaking, having rounded edges on a pipe will greatly increase the amount of flow a pipe can deliver.

 But the turbo is sucking air in at a certain rate/pressure, its not being forced in by the "ram"effect! The only thing this trumpet will possible do (the one in the upper part of the airbox) is maintain an even flow of air through the MAF I think... I removed it out of curiosity and I honestly haven't noticed any difference with it in or out (I just haven't put it back in yet :cartman:)

I havent checked my Ibiza, but there should be a grill before the MAF that is there to straighten the air flow. The trumpet makes sure the turbulences created by sharp edges do not hurt the airflow when running big quantities of air.

When I competed in caraudio sound pressure competitions, I made measurements with and without aeroport in a ported box to increase maximum SPL by 2-3dB's when running a round port.

Also speaking with my friend that has build some V8 engines, running similar ports on intakes to carburators resulted in greatly increased airflow.

I wouldnt expect much horsepower differences on Ibiza running with or without it, so youre right that its probably not noticeable.
