1.4 Restart faullt after short run

I have had my 1st Ibiza for about a month now and I have a couple of annoying faults.

1) If you give it a short run (less than 15 Mins) then turn off, it will only restart by towing. Starter motors spins fine for ages, but no lift off!!. I have noticed, while its cranking, the odometer reads "ln 02" - is this a fault code?

If you run it for more than 15 mins, no problems.

2) The heater blows cold - Not a good time for that kind of fault!! It was working fine two days ago on the way to work. On the way home all blow, no hot!! The fan is going fine, the hot/cold dial 'feels' fine, you can hear the flap moving through the vents, if you sqeeze the hozes running to the matrix they feel like they are full of water and the header tank sloshes in time with the squashes. WTF is going on?!?!?

Any help gratefully received, thanks.

if i recall correctly from my old mk2 the 'in 02' message is normal, but i have no idea what it means

with the hot air issue is the temp gauge correct when running the car normally? i had the same issue and it was the water pump that had gone, could just be a blocked heater radiator though

The temp gauge seems fine, gradually rises to just below half way and stays there, that said, I haven't noticed it rise higher then fall when the stat opens, maybe thats blocked? I'll check it and report back.

Thanks.

same as my old mk2, guy i went to to start with near work for convenience was pretty clueless tbh. checked it all out and didn't think about the pump thought it was the head gasket, took it elsewhere and it was sorted

Sounds like the problem I had with my car, its some sort of sensor that controls how much fuel is used for ignition, cost me about £40 for a new one. The 'ln 02' thing is something to do with the immoboliser...i think.

Nope,... IN 02 means "service inspection 02"...
