red lights under mirror

Just noticed two red lights under my mirror.... what on earth do they do????

FR should have an automatic anti-dazzle mirror, but it has one sensor at the front and one at the rear, neither of which glow.

i was thinking W8 mirror also.

was a popular mod at one stage and is basically to illuminate the dash/ gear area of the car without distracting the driver.

It's a cracking mod, one of the first things i did.

Didn't know there was a W8 mirror. There is the W8 interior light which has the red LED downlights, I fitted one in my old Leon.

The new Leon and my Altea have the LEDs built into the Mirror, maybe some one has fitted one of these, does it have the auto-dimming function as well?

They light up the area round the gear lever. Looks good, gives a nice red glow to the area.
