Hi Guys

Quickie....have been using my sat nav on my FR TDI 57 Plate on the dash (carbon fibre looking bit).

Just wondered if anyone else has and has also been left with the suction cup marks:(.

Anyone have any suggestion as what is best to use to remove it? I have tried warm water and cloth as I don't want it to fade or damage.

Appreciate thoughts?

Cheers

Is it marks you're talking about or indentations?
Marks can be rid of with a good dash cleaner, say from auto glym.
Dents would be harder...maybe a hairdryer to gently heat it then massage it to see if it comes out? be careful of damaging it further...

Once when i cleaned my interior some rings appeared on the dash material.... they looked awful but soon faded...

Thats the one, looks like greasy rings from the sucker cup, I can't believe that these will fade though as they look so bad. I am also reluctant to put any type of cleaner on it as i don't want a shiny dash.

Also when I took the NAV of for the last time, I noticed the laminated material lifting from the dash backing. Not a problem as it dropped down again, but a bit of a concern none the less if your someone who persistantly fits and refits NAV units!!! Beware!!

MIght be worth investing in a decent mount for it, I had a really great brodit one for my TomTom which is now in my missus car, although I had to do a bit of butchering to get it to fit in there!

The 'greasy rings' I got were not from sticking anything down, they just appeared when I cleaned it, looked like part of the underneath fixings, like I said fortunately they dissapeared, I was worried I had knackered it!
