I know there are a lot of threads out there to be found which i have dont get me wrong but one thing i am puzzled about is how much to take off the two prongs in the centre and how to drill them? because if you cut them down there a hole in between them...Also how to screw in the centre and where from would be helpful with pics?

just cut them down a bit, put it upto bumper and see if anymore needs taking off, cant really screw the middle in due to the gap, just play about with it til you get it right, that what i did, i used a few 'c' clamps to hold the splitter in place, with the bumper off

i used nuts and bolts ;) just drilled through the bumper and splitter where i wanted to bolt it

also, mine is only held on with 6 bolts, and lots of cable ty's incase i hit something, it rips the splitter off, and not the bumper, which i have have done once already :D dead fox in the road which i didnt see until it was too late

thats a good idea, never thought of bolting it on. Just had loads of self tappers from my boot built so used them.

Ouch road kill can destroy cars, reminds me of that picture of the BMW that hit the deer on the autobarn (sp) nasty :cartman:

know exactly what you mean.. mines off the car at the moment. Car is only lowerd like 30mm on coilovers and it scrapes on drop curbs if hit at wrong angle.

I just cut the top bit off the prongs. I jacked car up and heated a metal thing up and poked that through the bumper and splitter. Used some nuts and bolts from halfords. Think mine was held on with 6 bolts. Until i hit a dropped curb abit too fast and it cracked some of the splitter.

As above, I lined it up on the bumper with mole grips and then used 6-8 self tappers to drill through the tabs and into the bottom of the bumper.

As for the middle bit - I just trimmed it down until it was about right but not secured it. The only way you'll ever notice it's not sat 100% completely flush with the bumper is to get on your hands and knees to inspect it
