my ibiza is just being a pain in the a**e it was fine then all of a sudden i got a missfire quite a while ago. and it went through 2 distributor caps and rotor arms (leaving a white powder inside). then i realised it was mainly in the wet when it missfired. then i thought nothing of it everything seemed fine until last week when it seemed verry flat. i drove to work (in the pouring rain) on monday and went to start it when i had finished but it wouldnt turn over. i wasnt sure if the battery had died or weather it was another distributor so i tried to bump start it and tried jump leads, neather of these things worked so i got a replacement distibutor cap and rotor arm fitted it and still no joy. it wont jump start push start or anything! anybody got any ideas??? i realy am getting fed up now :cry:

Right well its not the dizzy so my next checks would be:

Spark plug
Coil
Leads

Leads are very common to go at this time of year. Try turning it over in the pitch black and look for blue flashes.

Dizzy caps are a weakness on these cars, you can usually just scrape off the white crap and reuse.

If your battery is flat get it charged up.

Pretty much as above, take out the plugs clean them up, if they look old and battered get some new ones.

This is what you are looking for on the coil;

The coil is my bet, look very closely, even slightest crack or score marks will cause above
