i have a tdi fr and needed a new radiator after approx. 3 months. I received terrible service from seat, took a while, no courtesy car and no lift to the train station. I was left to walk it in the cold of December! Needless to say this dealership has now closed down.

since then my coolant levels have been fine!

I had the same problem on my FR TDi, warning came on the MFD to check coolant and it was down, topped up and all was well for about 4 weeks and then it came on again. Topped up this time and it came on after about 100 miles.

10 top ups later and a new radiator fitted.

Seems to be common for it to fail on the near side in line with the battery as you look at the car from the front. I spotted some water dripping down on a wet day, left a sheet of white A4 in the proximity of the droplets, turned pink....bingo.

saints did they preesure test the system ???

Hi Studly, at which point?

Not that it matters as such because i don't recall anyone mentioning it. The AA guy didn't know his arse from his elbow and it was my suggestion that isolated the fault and Seat whilst quick, were less than informative.

Problem solved none the less :)
