Wheel bearings

Are the wheel bearings a common thing to go on your mk4's? (more so the higher powered diesel ones pd130 etc)

My dads got a Fabia VRs and he's had one wheel bearing replaced under warrenty, but its out of warrenty now and he thinks another may be on the way out. Another person I know with a VRs has had a bearing go too.

So do they go on the ibizas too?

not that i have heard, but my golf needs them but its a w reg and has 90k on the clock

The search shows very few results for wheel bearing so I would guess that it's a Fabia thing or a Problem with your dads suspension setup

My dad has a 54 Plate Cordoba and both his front bearings needed replaced after only 18k!

My guess was they came from a faulty batch as they should never go that early!

Of course, my car has had this problem (try and find a problem my car hasnt had )

However, that being said, it was very early on in its life, a mere 5000 miles perhaps? That long ago I cant remember, and one of them started to go, never had a problem since.
