Changing any part from OE will invalidate the warranty on that component. i.e putting coilovers on will probably void anything suspension, ARB, steering. All depends on the garage really... sometimes they may turn a blind eye.
Insurance... the only person that could possibly tell you that is the person on the other end of the phone at your insurance company.

as has been said it will defo void the warranty, and it will affect the insurance quite a bit because with suspension you are altering the entire dynamics of the car. it will feel completly different to how the manufacturers set out for it. with other big mods (exhaust, remap) etc you are either making it noisier or a bit quicker but suspension is a whole new thing.

my insurance doesn't need renewing until next october and then my warranty runs out the following march. It kind of makes sense to just wait until my warranty runs out and hopfully, by then, i will have 4 years no claims and when time does come to put some coilovers on me insurance want be to bad but a don't want to wait that long :p

Will only be a prob as Simon just said if you take it in for anything related to suspension thou but IMO wait untill warranty is over then go for it means you can save for better coilovers until then!

No claims should not have anything to do with the amount you pay for mods thou?!
