Tcs kicking in

Does anybody have any probs with the traction control kicking in slightly too early for their liking?

Recently i had a near miss trying to pull out onto a busy round-about (sat there for ages!), see a gap and give it some go (as ya do). But as the traction control kicks in it knocks ALL turbo boost off and im sat there goin nowhere with a car just about to T-bone me!!!!its a pain in ass now![:@]

Is it just me or has it happened to you? i dont want to have to switch the TCS off everytime io get in the car as its a safety aid surely......

I used to find this on mr Ibiza FR - if I needed to get moving quickly out of a junction or across a roundabout I used to click the TCS off to save any problems

Surely if you get the revs up, and then dump the clutch you will get moving!
My turbo doesnt have time to not run if the revs are high enough.

If I do this, the cars reaches enough speed before the power is cut.

I thought it was really good at pulling away (with TC switched on) and in fact didn't hinder.

I can beat it lol, about 2.5K and dump the clutch, spins the wheels nicely lol any less and its bogging down, bit more, you get power but no torque to pull you away lol. Feels like im killing it though... *Duh Duh Duh Duh Duhhh*

I get it at about 3.5 to 4k. then dump the clutch. With the TCS on. It bounces a little as the tyres try to find the road, but it holds on!

Tried that an it almost sounds like the drive shafts are gonna snap in two!!!!!!

TCS will cut in when it detects wheelspin. This is about car (accelerator pedal) control. Mine has over 300bhp and I can drive it rapidly (in the wet) even with the TCS on.

that sounds like you've got some wheel hop going on. have you uprated your dog bone mount? that should help things.

Mines completely standard pal. im gonna get a remap off ecotech.co.uk for 200 quid first, shouls send it to 180bhp or around that mark.
Would love more torque than a standard remap offers but then it starts getting pricey with regard to clutch, bigger turbo`s, intercoolers etc....endless.

Just wonna get into the meets and show scene for now an take it from there really....

Hows it goin your end? Im stuck in work with f4ck all to do as you can probably tell!!!! ha

Just by uprating the clutch you should achieve about another 30lbs/ft of torque as it can take it. You won't need to mess with the intercooler either (stock one will be more than enough unless you want to take it well past 250bhp). And hybrid's are another chapter entirely.

Best start saving the pennies then!!!! It is a great drive its just that im probably getting used to the power now and "starting to feel slow" syndrone kicking in and am just exploring the options.......
