New member looking at a leon

Hi guys,

I am new to this site so

I have recently sold my car (Mini Cooper S JCW) and i am looking for something a little cheaper and more practical.

I have come across a Seat Leon FR 1.8T. It is on a 55 plate and has done 56k miles. The garage have it up for 7k but offered it to me for 6.5k including a new MOT, 2 new front tyres, 12 months tax, 12 months warranty, full tank of petrol, new service including a cam belt change.

Does this sound a good deal to you guys?

I am after something a bit more comfy and not as costly to run as my old car but which also has a bit of poke when needed.

Anything i should look out for? Does this seem like a wise choise or would you think other models would be better?

Many thanks! :)

that sounds like a very good deal from a dealer.

this is good on petrol as long as you dont drive it like a tit all the time :p (stay out of the turbo region and you can easily get good mpg)

look out for the water pump as they are a bit dodgy on most leons, and ask about the coilpacks too. apart from that, your sorted ;)

Thanks,

A friend of mine has the 1.8T engine in his A3 and he can get decent mpg out of his so if i can get similar i will be happy :)

Will ask the dealer those questions about water pump/coilpacks when i next pop in.

sounds like a good deal to me. Ask them to ensure the waterpump is dne at the same time as the cambelt - no point doig one and not the other, doesnt take long to do the waterpump too.

Is it from a Seat dealer or some other independant?

Thanks for the offer but you are quite far away and i have no car at the moment and this dealer is local to me so is a lot easier for myself to deal with the dealer.

I will ask them, thanks.

It is a Seat dealer :)

Even better then, you should get a years Seat warranty, free HPI, free seat roadside assistance and I got a weeks free insurance too to sort out my private plate.

Make sure you take a good look around it - mine was missing engine cover, battery cover and lower engine cover. I knew about the engine cover so got one of those thrown in with not bother at all - just asked for it. Unfortunately didnt know about the battery and lower engine cover until it was too late! There are loads of pics and threads on here for you to compare with when you get to/get back from dealer.
