Loss of boost

Last night when driving my cupra 07 i noticed the rev counter dip, and then when i reached a dual carriageway i put it to test.

Was doing 40mph and put the car in 5th and put my foot down, the rev's increased and when hit 4k dropped down then picked up and when got to about 5k dropped down again and then increased once more and the power was fine.

Went to the petrol station, filled the car and then tried it again but this time the car just accelerated.

Now I am running revo stage 1 without any other mods, any idea what the problem is. My mate has vag-com so I am hoping to see him over the weekend and see what that says.

Anyone else had this problem?

nothing to do with fuel pressure with not having much in the tank?

Sounds like the fuel rail pump issue, especially as it's happening @4k that seems where it becomes noticeable..

yeah i spoke to will @ P tourqe as mine was loosing boot, he sugessted that it might be the OEM dump valve loosing boost due to a split in the ruber inside the valve, he sugested to go with the Forge Dump Valve. he said its a common issue with cars that have had the remap to loose boost due to the OEM dump valve

Well I have not had the problem since, I have tried to get the car to do it. Maybe it is when the car is low on fuel, but never had the problem before.

Will just keep an eye on it, I have been thinking of upgrading the DV to the forge one.

Well the car has done it again, but now it is also showing signs of the revs slipping up when booting it in 5th and aswell as dropping down.

I dont know if the DV would cause such a drop in revs, i heard it would start to lose power overtime but maybe it is.

I had VAG-Com plugged into the car yesterday. I have a couple of faults, one with the driver door and one with the radio as it is misconfigured. Nothing showed up on the engine except this which is a bit worrying!

1 Fault Found:

That cant be good right?

If I had a leak somewhere, would I be able to try something to determine where one would be? I have looked at Dan's guide but am still unsure.

That's about 36.6mph? Even in first gear that's not going to be at 7200rpm, surely?

Maybe you have a faulty sensor.

If it is the clutch master cylinder problem I mentioned then the engine could quite easily rev above the speed at which the car is travelling. That would also explain the load value..

If you can lay your hands on one to swap in I'd give it a try.. it shouldn't be that hard and at least it will eliminate that possibility..

Get one from the stealers, cheap and easy to fit?

Don't know for the Leon but for my A3 it was about £60 I think.. was fairly easy to fit - unbolt the pedal cluster, change the M/C and then bolt it up again..

If you're going to the dealers might be worth asking them if they've heard of any issues with it, or can suggest anything else for the symptoms..
