That message in VAG-COM is a joke by the way. Hence the smiley face.

I did wonder about the smiley face, how can you be so sure.

Anyhow, I have been running the car on stock mode, that message did not come up when I plugged the vag-com in. Oh and I configured my radio correctly, which was something that my stealer could not do :p

that is exactly what happens for me, after 4k in 5th/6th gear

been thinking about your post. I have come to the decision that the problem is similar but not quite the same.

When my rev's drop down they then pick up again and go past the previous point, so I could hit 4.5k they drop back down to 4/4.2k and then picks up again. Makes me think I could possibly have some kind of leak.

Also my car does not go into limp mode like yours, does in mainly in 5th gear for me when starting low down. When i push through the gears with my foot down its fine.

Maybe I need to upgrade the dv and fuel pump? Who knows. Will try and do some revo coding soon.

Good luck with this issue because i've had it for quite a while now. My dealer has been great in swapping over evrything we think it can be including D.V, fuel pump, sensors, etc.

I have even tried dropping the boost right down to almost stock levels and it will still occasionally do it and feel not very smooth.

When i was stage 1 it was great, 20psi strong. Now anything over 12 psi and it doesnt like it.

With the limp mode i will only get that if i continue with my foot right down at about 120 in 6th, so basically full hard load ignoring the cutting.[:@]

I can rev my car all the way to 7k but it starts going funny after 4k. I had my car logged the other week and the vag-com showed that at about just after 4k everything would drop off on the Maf and then get straight back to where it was, for example if the Maf was reading like 170, 180, and 190 at 4k, at 4100k it would drop to 40 and then at 4200k it would return to 200 where it should have been and so on. That led me to belive the Maf could have been at fault. But Seat had already changed the Maf before that point so it couldnt be. Basically somethings happening at about 4k that is shutting everything down and then returning it.[:@]

Also stock mode doesnt feel great.

Right so yours still doing it in stock? Cos mine is.....but the rev's do not drop as much. I have not tried going past 120mph, dont really get a chance too.

If your pushing through the gears with your foot down do you get the problem?

And when you say limp mode do you get a light, of just stating that due to the loss of power? I reason I ask is that I dont think limp mode will allow you to travel at 120mph

In stock mode it does it if i blast off from the lights and try to go thru the gears, basically a hard start down the m32, but it also feels a bit slow and rough-ish.

With regards to the limp mode, i get no light just a big loss of power for about 20 seconds then everything returns. It sort of feels like blowing a hose when it happens.
With the Revo back on If i short shift at about 4k you wouldnt feel a problem, as soon as you touch 4100k it doesnt like it unless going up hill then 3800k is your lot.

Sorry i also think you misunderstood me about driving at 120 in limp mode. 120 is where it usually happens in 6th then when the limp mode happens i have to back right off and it only allows me to press only the very top of the pedal, any more and it doesnt give you anything thats why i think its a sort of limp mode.

I would not say thats the official 'limp' mode cos you get a light and the cars speed is really limited.

20 secs? Mine just dips slightly for maybe a second and then power is back and as it reaches 5k drops again and the same and then i have full power!!

I am wondering if mine could be DV related, going to have a look at it later. not had a chance yet. I am just thinking that maybe we are having similar issues but not quite the same.

You have totally misunderstood me. power will drop for 20 secs if i carry on going thru all the dips in power then the car has enough and does the limp mode, remember i said that happens in full throttle ignoring the dips in power in 6th gear, so basically all out giving it the full beans.

The car's speed is obviously limited if it wont let me have enough power to go over i think about 60 mph.

Basically my car is doing exactly what yours is doing and the limp mode only occurs if i ignore all what its doing while using Revo, foot to the floor flat out in 6th at very high loads. :censored:

My speeds are not limited either. You will not have experienced the limp mode because like you said yourself you havent been able to run your car upto and above that 120 mph speed at full throttle and keep it pinned.

Do you now understand what i am saying.

Yeah i follow now. Sorry having a bit of a slow day, concentration sucks. I'll see if i can test it......actually i think i hit 130mph the other day. But I'll still test, obviously not on the public highway

Tonight I took a look at the DV and it looks ok, no cracks or bulges. But saying that I did not take it apart (was scared too and did not know how) but we did note that the screws that hold it in place were not that tight. I would take it that with pressure running through it they should be?

Anyway, we tightened them up a bit but not too much as we did not want to cause any damage, then double checked that the car was in stock mode.

So I drove the car and so far no blips, I was able to accelerate to 130mph. So far so good, now I am not going to start jumping up and down as yet. Will leave a couple of days to see what happens, any problems then back to square one. If all is fine then switch the REVO back on and then lets see.

I only get the limp mode when i am running Revo. I havent experienced the limp mode in stock mode.
