Hi,

I have a 05 plate mk1 seat leon cupra R 225bhp.

I have looked in the manual for the car, but cannot seem to find the fuse that controls the unlocking of all the doors as well as the turn on of the interior light when the key is removed from the ignition after a journey. This in turn has stopped my radio from working, as the radio fuse remains intact.

Does anyone know what this fuse number is, as well as where it is??

I am assuming it is in with the other fuses to the right of the steering wheel inside the dashboard.

Many Thanks :banned:

this fuse went on mine, it is in the main fuse compartment, one of the smaller type fuses, 10amp from memory. i'll go check my car and post back.

number 14 for the central locking problem, although number 10 is the one which makes my radio play up, might be worth checking both :)

for a quick test your sidelight fuses are the same size and not essential during daytime so you can always use one of them for the day:) good luck

haha! it is one of the leads on the iso that earths on the radio cage and blows the fuse - i discovered when changing radios too!

I believe it also does the Boot lamp, I had a stealth sub box and i accidently mashed the contacts together in the lamp holder. and that was shorting and blowing the fuse every time.

you sorted the problem thanks mate. Glad I asked the question now as it seems it needed answering. :)

Thank you for this info as I am sure it will happen again :)

So what exactly caused the fuse to blow as I think one of the wires touched the case when putting it back in the cubby hole

Thanks

Probably a bad/loose connection somewhere or a spike in ampage. On my mk4 golf the main interior light switch that operates it fell out(one that selects between on/on when doors open/off) the spring that held it in ended up across the connection and i had sparks and as the fuse is there to protect the system overloading the fuse blew

If it was when you were putting you headunit back in place then i think that it is the switched live that earths on the radio cage. the switched live has a bullet connector halfway down it so that it can be swapped with the permanent live in some applications; so the plastic surrounded the bullet connector may not be in place? I used this wire to feed my relay for my snooper etc, and it is my extra wire that has earthed before to blow the fuse. all sorted on mine now tho :)
