Wheels Spacers...

i just bought some 5mm spacers from halfords, i didnt realise everyone here used 20mm ones, they sound massive,

when i look at my rear wheels they only need to come out a little, it looks like if i put 20mm ones on they would hit the arch,

im gunna put them on and see how it looks, the guy said they were for 4x100 pcd so i guess they should fit???

is there anything i should know before i fit them?

thanks

yes im sure mine are 20mm

over all each side of the wheel has been pushed out 20mm, so thats 40mm in total.. thats alot more than what your talking about.

i do have more pics but cant acess them here, will do when i get home though.

front track (distance between front wheels)
rear track (distance between rear wheels)

basically I KNOW the rear track is around 36mm SHORTER than the front, this makes the car unstable in hard cornering and hard breaking.

if i put 20mm spacers on the rear, i push the wheels out 40mm... so that now means that my rear track is 4mm wider than the front.
this makes the car much more stable.

those bolts are made of cheese that you get with the ebay spacers and i had to cut the bolts down so they would hold my wheel on tight aswell!!

I have these 20mm spacers and bolts on the rear of my cupra, didn't need to cut the bolts down at all although as has been said the bolts don't appear to be the best material I've come across!

iirc the spigot length on mine was 13mm.
I have 20mm ebay spacers which fit fine but didn't come with bolts, so ended up buying a stud conversion kit. Which turned out to be ****.

i dont know wot my ofset is, the alloys i have came on the car, but they must be different to standard cupra alloys, if i put spacer on the front the wheels would hit the arch over hard bumps,

i could probly put a couple more mm on the back but they look ok on 5mm spacers so ill wait till i slam it and then see wot i think
