Leak - NOT the door leak, and probably not pollen filter....

If when you open the door you get a gush of water, as if trapped between the door and the frame + puddle in footwell, then this is definitely the door seals. Fix is cheap and simple. If there is water on the bonnet release cable, then possibly something else....

This is exactly what i get on my two front doors, but leaks into the footwell, and mine also comes with two free of charge puddles in the rear footwell that sound as though they are under the carpet but i cant feel any water on the surface??

How do i fix this??? :(

I have read the following guide twice, but in all honesty it looks simple enough.
My next step is:
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=44216&highlight=leaking+door
using the sealing cord part no. AKD 497 010 04R10

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=961163&page=1
steps 1-23 are helpful

Think I sorted the pollen filter leak by following the excellent guide on here, but now have the drivers footwell leak. Placed tissue paper around the drivers footwell, and none of it got damp, but still have a soggy drvers floor carpet! My assumption is that the leak is dripping from the bulkhead directly under the carpet and gathering in the footwell.
What a nightmare it is! Anyone any ideas? I bought the car from a car dealer (not Seat) around 6-8 weeks ago, so this should still be covered right??

As i have said before, not sure if it was this thread or another but you need to seal up the 'electrical box' under the scuttle pannel. You will also need to remove the wiper motor and linkage which is easy and all will be revealed!

I had all these issues tryed the doors, the fuse box in the end it was the bulkhead.
If your car is still under warranty then any seat dealer will sort it for nowt.
If not I would not like to say how much the rob dogs would charge.

waterleak into footwells

http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo33/jskelton555/seatleon/seatleonbulkheadhole.jpg

the water on my leon came through a unsealed hole in the bulkhead under the wiper panel, it ran down the back of the carpets/sound deadening and into the footwells on the drivers side. rear footwell is lower than the front footwell so it gathers there to a greater level. you can hear it sqelching under the insulation before you see it.photos attached

you can just see bonnet cable above and edge of wiring cover gasket to the right, any other questions please PM me i have lots more photos that i am trying to upload
thanks

Cheers jskelton555, can you PM me with your e-mail address. I'd like to pick your brains if possible?
Do I need to remove the seal from around the bottom of the windscreen to remove the scuttle panel, and if I do this will the seal just puch back into place once done? Anyone any tips please let me know.
Cheers.

so do the seals go straight back on around the windscreen once you've put the scuttle panel back? Just don't want to take it off to find I can't get the seals to stick back! Cheers.
