Whast the price like on those disks? I know the LCR disk is a one off size almost so prices are high. I take it poka brakes as resonable in comparison?

Depends where you go, your talking bout 130 a disc then your mounting bolts. Wont fit std gt junior calipers tho cause there 32mm wide.

Im a big fan of the 993tt porsche tried and tested on a 190mph car so cant be bad.

Yumann where you get the calipers from? Do you have a contact at brembo? I can get discount on the AML calipers through work.....

I got them from an aml specialist for a good price. You work for aml? ;) kinda hard to get pads for it and the prices is crazy. Im trying to source some aftemarkets once.

Realise this is an old post but I have the two piece AP floating discs with custom bell. Mintex 1155 pads. Outstanding braking during the track days. Pictures:

I'm running 358x32mm 2 piece discs with 6 pot Porsche calipers..my motor certainly STOPS :D Just have to keep checking my mirrors to make sure the guy behind me can stop too !!

Hi Dozer,

Your calipers look truly stunning, do you mind if I ask:

1. How much for the Porsche calipers?
2. Where did you get them?
3. Did you have to do anything major to fit them (where the wheels picked for clearance)? I have 330mm AP Racing disk set-up and wonder if the 6 pots would fit inside my 18" OZ ultral's - I would rather not use spacers if possible but my calipers have flaked so badly it is doing my head in and Seat have refused to replace them :D

Hi Dozer,

I have found this, not sure whether a Subura garage would let me through the door in my LCR but you can only ask!!!!

You appear to have the PCCB caliper on yours though (when you compare to the one in the link)...

Hi Dave,

They look great and you have the OZ SuperTs on too!

How much where they, where did you get them from and where they hard to fit? I am looking to fit something similar myself but not sure whether to go AP racing for the calipers or Porsche. :D

I picked up some of Badger5's 330mm 2 piece disks on Saturday.
They look fabulous. Can't wait to get them on.
Also picked up some braided hoses and some Motul fluid.
Going to use them with the DS2500's I've already bought.
Should work brilliantly! (well, that's what he said anywhay!!)

Cheaper than the AP set too.

How much cheaper than the AP set where they? APs are expensive for a reason... :p

Are you fitting them yourself? I look forward to seeing some pics! :D

Got these
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=53760&page=8
(Pics in this thread!! I think these are MY rotors! I recognize the finger prints!)
Prices for the parts are included in the thread.
Will dig out if I get a min.
I got the Rotors, Bells, Caliper Spacers, Rotor Bolts and braided hoses, not the Calipers (using my Brembo's)
The thread is quite a good read. Plenty said about the reliability of the AP's ;)

I'll be getting them fitted locally.

Cheers,
Steve

I have just read through all 8 pages of the thread - very interesting as you say.

My track man has ran APs on hs M3s and two LCRs and never had a problem and he does up to 3 full track day training sessions in his cars every week all over Europe. I have never heard bad things about the APs - suppose it could have been a bad batch!?!??!

When are you looking to get them fitted? Thanks again for the link. :D

Soon I hope.
Just got to find the right fitter.
Not sure if I trust my local (Non Seat) garage. Will get a few quotes (including Seat/Non Seat) and go from there.
Got a few other mods I want help with fitting at the same time. (See my sig.)
Cheers,
Steve

I agree with you, you don't want the brakes fitting by some ham fisted amateur. My brake man strips everything off, cleans everything up, coppaslips the calipers and re-fits, road tests and keesp bleeding the brakes until he is happy. It takes him most of the day but i know that it has been done properly....

I look forward to hearing how you find the new brakes when they are. Mine were the best money I have ever spent on any car. Brakes should be the first investment any modder makes IMHO...

I'll be needing new front discs in the next few months. I had considered going for the same as I have (elliptically grooved from Badger5) as I've been thinking of buying a new car and didn't want to spend too much.

However, I think I'll be keeping the LCR for a fair while longer, so I've been thinking of 'bigger' discs, either the 2-piece 330's that Bill has on offer, or the AP's like Olivers.

But, having seen the Porsche 'big reds' I'm thinking should I go for something like that instead? How much would I be looking at for that set up & where can I get them from? Are replacement discs & pads readily available? Will they fit behind standard LCR wheels?

Is there an upgrade available for the rear?

Hi Jonny,

I have been doing some research for the past few days on a brake upgrade for mine and it is not easy! I am struggling to source prices for Porsche 6 pots, I have found the AP Racing calliper kit for our car at:

http://www.apracing.com/info/produc...+R+-+Front+6+Piston+Kit+CP5570-1014_1712_1059

But I want a larger disk than this set-up offers and I am not sure whether AP Racing callipers are better or worse than the Porsche or Brembo ones. I swear by the AP Racing kit I have, it has never let me down and my track man who fitted it and ran the same set for three years on his two LCRS for track tuition has never had an issue either, He also has the same kit on his M3s running the F2R pads though rather than 1155s.

I have found the Porsche big red but they are 4 pot and I am not sure what the difference would be between 4 and 6 pot (if it is worth the money or even noticable).

Link to the Porsche (Subaru fitment only) and they couldn;t help me as they said that I would need to have a mounting bracket specially made:

http://www.powerstation.org.uk/porsche_brakes.asp

I am happy to team up our effort on this, I am looking for Porsche or AP 6 pot callipers with 358ish mm disks (2 piece floating AP units inside with some hefty road/track pads) to fit inside my 18" OZs. I appreciate that we may have to have some parts made but it might be cheaper if we need 2 sets for us both, what do you reckon? :D
