Well an update ...... Star WERE closed on Monday for the bank holiday (so why did Jim say they'd start my car on Monday?), so they started on my car yesterday, they need a new gasket for something which will arrive today so more will be done today. I did include all new gaskets for everything but the turbo-to-DP gasket got a little banged up from my attempts to fit, so I'm guessing it's a new on of these that's needed.
Fingers crossed they get all they need to do finished today and I can go up tomorrow to finish off fitting the IC pipes, intake, DV, etc. and have it all completed and back home by Friday afternoon.
Can't wait to try out this rebuilt and improved turbo!

Good news though, Star have done everything I asked of them, so I'm heading up tomorrow morning with the rest of the bits to finish it off - woohoo!

Well I spent the morning up at Star putting the rest of my car back together ... and it's running! First time in 6 weeks and she started first time (after turning it over first to prime the oilways)! Collecting it tomorrow morning, so that will be the first drive. I'm going to limit the boost for the first hundred miles or so just to be safe then turn it up.

Come with new mounting hardware too. Apparently those are 'strengthening ribs' on the runners, notice the gaps between the runners are filled in now too.

Well I have my car back, drove it home from Star this morning. To answer some questions:
1. Does it have full boost - yes it does, 1.4 BAR no problem.
2. Does it feel any more powerful - yes it does.
3. Does it sound any different - yes it does. Between the tubular manifold and larger compressor wheel it sounds more aggressive with slightly louder spool. The street density engine mounts may also have something to do with it too.
The street density mounts and track density dogbone are really great, definately smoother and tighter but with no harsh vibrations at all.
Star went some way to redeeming themselves by treating me well and taking an hour's labour off the bill to cover the cost of sending the ATP manifold back to the USA.
Overall I'm just happy to have it back on the road, I just want to drive it now!
