ok thanks

on another note, just spoke to the tuner and figures are at present 261bhp, still another day of mapping to go, but pretty worried about this now

I am prob panicking :(

I bet you'll end up at 280 ish , but 280 with very little lag will still be fun to drive , dont worry.

Depends on the boost etc. plus it's the middle of summer too, hot days = lower figures.

hmmmmmm

worried and almost not happy, with this much time and investment spent to not reach target bhp figures is disappointing

yes yes, its all pub talk, but ffs, i mean it should be seeing more than this right?

something about temps of "egt's" is it? were very high

Would have been cheaper to go normal k04.

I'm sure they'll get more than that if they got a day left on it.

Exhaust gas temps. Probably due to the size of the exhaust housing.

Fingers crossed for you.

I shouldn't get hung up on the figures to be honest, tis all pub talk, and its down to how the power is spread out over the rev range and driveability really

I should know as I quote that statement enough times when other people bang on about it (pot calling kettle lol!!)

well as you say, if the EGT's are very high, which he said he should be seeing 20's or 30's at most would indeed account for the lower bhp figure right now, due to it being so hot during the day right now....probably not the best time to be getting a car mapped

I suppose those figures could improve when it gets colder

You are getting intake temps and EGTs mixed up. I would love to see EGTs of 20s or 30s! Currently at about 750 degrees for me.

What intercooler you running? It will work better on the road than on the dyno so power may be down here.

Also how do you know the tuners dyno is acurate. I dont take any figures as gospel just a guide. Its easy to say dont get hung up on figures but as soon as its your own car its a little different isnt it!

nail on head there mate;)

yes sorry getting them mixed up

currently running a massive Pro Alloy FMIC so should cope with the temps pretty well, and its a bit cooler today, so should aid mapping....I hope

Best of luck. It will run alot cooler out on the road, it should pull pretty hard out on the road, I've raced and beaten an Impreza STi with a standard GT2X so the hybrid should be good.

Even at 262bhp mine was still pulling 294lbft of torque - 309lbft at 281bhp ... so it's a torquey little devil!

I never know heat would make so much difference until just recently. My mate has a revo'd B5 RS4 and last winter we had it running really well with good logs to back it up.

Since the hot weather, its been backing off really badly so the other weekend we spent 2 hours with a select + and got it pulling properly again. Its scary seeing CFs up to 7 and 8 at times when the AIT is that high. Unfortunately, 2 K04s and no FMIC doesn't help!

I agree with the above, cooler temps, open road, it will be a different car.

I have read this thread with great interest (sorry to hear of your problems Rob, although I have subscribed to your thread too for the same reason!!)

I really hope you are pleased with it Jamie and you feel that the time, work and money pays off.

Good Luck!

The problem with hybrids is that they need to be set up properly with an adjustable actuator. My hybrid run the same as stock until i adjusted the actuator to suit the higher boost levels the compressor can safely sustain. I would ring CR turbo's and ask what the turbo has been set up to deliver at the red line and then ring AMD and ask how much boost they are actually achieving at red line. If actual boost is too low the actuator will need tweaking. EGT's are important but most peoples egt's are around 850 to 900 degs at red line. You should be flowing at least 1.4bar at Red line.

well its been emotional and a wasted day

headed off to the tuner today as its about a 3 hour train journey

on my way I get a call saying it is requesting 1.4bar but will only boost to 1.1bar

they suspect its an issue with the N75 valve so a new one has been ordered....

this was after travelling 3 hours already, so as soon as I arrived I had to turn around and come back

then to add to that the train broke down...and I have been on the train from 11:00 till 20:00 this evening travelling back and fourth:cry:

so now I await a phone call when they have managed to sort out the boost issues and she is all done (as it was meant to be today, but due to unforeseen circumstances she isn't)

:headhurt:

ok, I have just had a phone call and there are further issues

the map etc is all finished, but the N75 valve is causing the car to hold back

the map is set at around 290bhp with similar or more torque, but it is the N75 valve which is holding the car back

CURRENTLY it is only putting out 272bhp and 250lbft

now I am told that if an ECS race valve is fitted then the new hardware will meet the specifics put into the map

i.e. the details of the map are in place to run higher power, but it is a mechanical issue which is stopping it doing so

I am told if the new ECS valve is put in place then it will meet the requirements of the map

apparently BDMS only sell them as a kit and wont sell them individually

does anyone know where I can get hold of one of these?
