Very tempted to get a Bluefin or should i spend the cash on the Skirts & Spoiler.... or maybe new shocks & springs.....

either bluefin (or other remap) or sort out the handling/ride height. Have you though about insurance cost?

I thought about insurance costs, then I thought about keeping quiet.... then I got a few quotes and it wasn't all that bad after all.... Im not too concerned about the ride height especially, just want it a bit less jittery... Had a quote of £800 for full leather interior thats tempting too...lol... I will keep that in mind H8T, cheers

I like the idea of the Bluefin as its so easy to put on and take off... and it resets the ECU counter too apparently.... so no issues with Warranty hopefully....

Especially the Black as yours is. Didn't you say you had the black grille and mirrors too? Very Stealthy looking!

Bluefin is so tempting though! I have nearly paid for my holiday and is certainly on the hit list together with 3000 other things!!!!

I would do skirts and spoiler or suspension on a 170TDi as there is not a huge gain available on that car unless you remove the DPF. Several 170's have made close on 200bhp and 300ft-lbs standard and remapped ones only slightly more.

Thats true enough, but i dont think its all about numbers with a Diesel... its about ironing out the flat spots and getting power delivery further up the rev range.... thats what i want anyway.... I love the feeling when i give it some i just want it to last a bit longer.... god i sound like the missus now... oops too much info :censored:

Ok I was going to order the Bluefin this week and now i see that AMDTechnik who are just round the corner from my work are offering the Revo remap with free control box (basically the same thing as the bluefin) for the same price.... aaaahhhhhh

It is tempting because it is close by if there are any problems etc....

So Revo or Bluefin......?

Biscuit or Cake......?

Anyone had any experience of the insurance implications of fitting the aero kit? As it's a dealer option does it show up on any of the insurers' systems?

I put the skirts and spoiler on my Cupra. I heard on here that it didn't affect your insurance so i put the parts on and was happily driving around for a couple of months without knowing the insurance implications. when i renewed my insurance all companies i checked and through gocompare.com saw it as a modification to original spec. About a 1/3 of insurance companies wouldn't quote for mods at all and of those that did it quite heavily took the cost up. My yearly insurance went up from £620 to £750 with the skirts and spoiler on, and that's with an extra year's (4) no claims bonus as well. And that's by looking around. Most companies wanted over a grand!

It is interesting though that the K1 has the full body kit but still is listed as a 'cupra 240bhp' and the cost is the same as a standard cupra. very annoying then putting these seat original parts on later drives the cost up I think.

So really give it some thought. I still think it's worth it though coz it makes the car look awesome.
