Linz_FR thanks for the comments. i love my FR want a remap so bad but cant really justify it at the moment! o and yes the 6th gear is quite handy all though i now want a 7th

thanks!! i would have got a PD160 but i could not really afford the nearly 2k a year to insure it plus the exta money to buy it! i was really suprised and im still being suprised

so what BHP are the new FR tdi's? nd on what year did they start making a 6th gear? just i thought they were only 130bhp so wouldnt have 6 gears?? sorry if it seems like am asking loads of questions but you gotta learn from somewhere lol

there still 130bhp! all the 130 and 160 diesels have six speed boxes. o and its fine to ask questions, i like helping people

It helps to keep the car in it's power band. In 6th at 70mph the rev's are just where you want them for more acceleration

Lovely car i want an FR gear nob was that standard with your diesel?

I've just removed the FR gear knob from mine, it feels very cheap and nasty to be honest. It's just a bit of leather wrapped around some plastic. Much nicer ones available.

no the bother i had getting that one i wont be changing for a few years yet and 150bhp is gooooooodd lol i had to get this one so it was quicker than my dads 130bhp golf

130 FR + Remap = 160-180bhp

and still get 50mpg so i herd

awww i want 6 gears thats the one thing we've said straight away about our FR it needs a 6th gear as it just feels like it will go and go.

Should've bought a derv then!


Lovely car mate! My parents have just got an 08 plate Ibiza FR and the difference between the Sport and FR is amazing! Loads of different stuff! Same engine though.
