Great thread chaps.

I was half tempted, but only because i've recently dicovered the climate control display. And to be honest that seems good enough for me. Shows the km/h (not too much bother to convert in my head) and RPM which is nice.

I guess BHP would be cool though.

Fuel consumption i'm not that bothered about. You got the onboard dash thingy, and the best measure is probably simple calculations after a full tank.

Are there other things that make it worth the money?

Hi SirSuraj,

Apart from the standard gauges you can have (mph, dist done today, dist done this journey etc etc etc), you can program it to setup new gauges (BHP, MAF, and so on.....), there are loads which i haven't even discovered yet, and loads which i don't even understand!.

It also keeps the previous days data so you can check various settings as compared to yesterday.

I have grown to like the ScanGauge more and more since buying it a couple of weeks ago. It does more than i had thought. I really like the way you don't have to remember to switch it on or off ! - it starts when the car starts and switches off when you switch the engine off - cool !

Any questions just ask, there are a few of us on here who have the ScanGauge, so we'll try to help!

Regards,
Andy

Cheers Andy

Not bothered about distance done and that sort of stuff really.

BHP, MAF etc seems a bit more meaningful, and could be useful in diagnosing. But doesnt vagcom also read this info?

And another thing... i think i may have lied when I said the climate control display can show the speed. I am able to use 27c for RPM, but cant seem to find one for speed. Which is strange because I believe 17c does it for an audi.

Do you know what I mean?

Yeah thats what I thought Lee, but I swear it doesnt work. Have you got it going? Mines a 03 plate Cupra, which may make a diff...

Hi,

Yep, 17 does the speed (kmh) in my 52 reg Leon Cupra too!

And yep VAG do these codes, but you have to run around with a laptop in your car!:)

Andy

Seen the same link, but look at 31c, which says all things on the display will show up. In my leon 03 cupra its actually 80 something.

Lee seemed to have a more accurate list of codes, in post #84

Must agree, it's in the 80s for my leon cupra too. I think the one above might be for the audi (most work for the VW / Seat tho). I'm going to try some of them out tomorro !

Andy
