I also did the fishing bit... hahhaha

Seems like if you tamper with the lights... as punishment you must fish.

I used a coat hanger wire with a huge ball of tape on the end.

This after having almost dis-assembled half the car.

With regards, to lights.

Here some folks do it with spray, others with film.

Try and get some paint for stained glass.

Its a perfect finish, clear, no running, and easily removable.

Problem with spray is that if you dont sand the lenses lightly (which make them unusable afterwards) is that it will most likely peel.

There are some sprays available on the ebay just for this effect... Id opt for that solution.

Good Luck there fellows.

the film wouldnt work, for starters it would be a pain to heat shrink round the light, and most films wont work on plastic, it basicly melts the plastic.

it also wouldnt last long,

Ok. here are some pictures.

Was trying the side repeater lenses on friday but ran out of paint half way through. Have more paint now and will get them done this week.

I might use the window tint to actually tint the windows now. Its DIY job and ive never done it before and meant to be pretty difficult but will see

please save your money, take the film back and get a pro job done, it is a pain to do and you have to heat shrink the film on the back window.

ive just done my LCR, ill try and get some pics up this week,

Got the window film in the states over a year ago so is just sitting there.
Instructions dont mention anything about heat shrinking. Using soapy water to apply it which is carefully squeezed out etc

you heat shrink to fit curves on the rear window,

have you ever seen a van done with loads of creases, thats what happens if you aply it to a curved window.

I know its not a leon but, I did mine with the tint spray. I thinking about using tint film. You can have the tinted tailights as long as you attach reflectors somewhere, or so I have been told by the local polie.

I only use these for shows as I havent been able to get hold of some reflectors and because Im too lazy to cut recesses for them.

Anyone tried to tint the lights in RED ???

It seems a matter of taste , but
Smoking the top (clear) or bottom (red) side looks quite ugly to me...
Smoked completely looks a bit nicer (depending on the color of the car).

But ,

What I think would look awesome, is to make the clear top-part RED ,
so the complete unit is all red !!

Now if they could be tinted red, that would be awesome as I have a red Leon. Although, how would the indicators look?

And, personally, I'd want to tint them a dark red to go with the dark red paint..
