have you not finished that yet;)

Unfortunately my business and life come before the car, other wise I'd write a cheque and get others to do the work for me. But that's a defeatists attitude :)

I'd like opinions on what coating are best though and why, if I finish my DP today I want to send it and the manifold to be done before installing it all.

Ceramic coating of manifolds normally start at £200+ +vat from Camcoat.

Looks tight in there re heat dispersal.

Bill s right re heat shielding. Even on my Golf there's quite a bit of room all things considered but boy it don't have get hot behind there.
I've put additional wrap around my I/C pipe work but have taken off the heat wrap on the manifold. I'd wrap what you can in foil wrap.

I've been considering some extra ducting to get more air in behind....God only knows how much heat Bill's car produces on an even more confined space.

I had an auxilliary fan on mine blowing air down the back of the motor as added piece of mind.. Despite several layers of wrap and using very high temp hosing, on removal you could see it was burned.
My bonnet sits +25mm at rear now for racing to assist in getting airflow out of there. no room and a lot of heat back there... things suffer and must be protected from radiant heat.
My full-race mani arrived yesterday... and we've made it fit the ibiza and made the tricky 3" top section of the DP past the servo and runner pipes.. so :D happy days. (still waiting on my commissioned manifold :banghead: )

Tell us more, mine will be going very soon to be coated.

Also if ceramic does come off (inside coated), bye bye turbo

andy @ Zircotek does mine. Top quality job and it has not fallen off. He does Primary Designs coatings. Focus RS I race with has his done 3+ years of racing and its discoloured from white to a dirty beige colour, but remains stuck on there.
they will be coating my new setup. coating is only "sprayed" on the outside surface btw.

Any pics on that mani bill? Sounds like a nice piece tho, the pics i've seen of full race mani's have been top quality.

Are they gonna be selling it en mass?

Its deffo a ford think. I had to have them on me ford as the bonnet didnt fit due to engine that was inside!

Has anyone ceramic coated the inside of their inlet manifolds?

There is a coaters nr dunstable somewhere. Maybe worth asking them. KarlosR knows where they are.

Zirconium spraying is what you should search for

Turbo outlet pipe is gonna need some shielding I guess? looks like it s resting on the exhaust housing (I'm sure it's not) but I bet it's close
