The Leon COPA was presented at the DTM last sunday at Hockenheim.

The German dealers picked up theirs on the Thursday before.

I saw the car at Hockenheim- looks nice, but is nomore than a tricked out Leon Cupra.

Herewith some pictures from the Dealer event: SEAT COPA

According to those figures the 0-60 (0-100kmh) is 6.6s, which is slower than a standard Cupra!

 They really have lost the plot with this car then? What were SEAT thinking...

Not really as we do not know the conditions in which the car was tested. For all we know the place where the car was tested was wet or damp on the day. Either way stick some grippier tires on the car and maybe a wider profile and that time would go down.

1 mph = 1.609km/h.. so 0mph - 60mph is if change to metric standard = 0 km/h - 96.561km/h.

Usually in Europe these accelerations specs (standards) are showed like:

0-100km/h / 100km/h = 62,137 mph
0-200km/h / 200km/h = 124,274 mph

Conversions from mph to km/h...

0-100mph = 0-160,934 km/h
0-120mph = 0-193,1221 km/h
0-150mph = 0-241,402 km/h
0-170mph = 0-273,588 km/h
0-200mph = 0-321,869 km/h

My standard Cupra times, measured with G-tech:
-0-50 km/h: 2,470 s
-0-100 km/h: 6,631 s
-0-130 km/h: 10,277 s
-0-160 km/h: 14,547 s
-0-180 km/h: didn't measured

Seats figures:
-80-120 km/h in 5th/6th: 6,4 s/8,2 s

So it's certainly faster than standard Cupra, but have got a poor start from the line.

The new TT-S uses 'our' engine and gets 272PS, and with this at 280 odd I suppose its variations on a theme again.

However I do have to ask why SEAT is making a car for a market like Switzerland when when the UK is one of its strongest markets and they are likely to generate more sales here. I didn't think the Swiss were big on polluting, higher CO2 vehicles.

At £20k its actually damn cheap. How the change in a currency sign can put a new perspective on something!!
Totally agree the currency changes and now we would love to have this car in the UK. For 20-21k that is a bargain indeed.

I still fail to see why you would think £2k over book is good value other than having warranty approved remap. Even if you factor in a favourable exchange for the car, you need to consider rip off Britain prices and the cost to put standard cupra bumpers on and remove the chav stripes.

It would only be worth it if they really were limited to say 50.

From what information we have it comes with

+ revised suspension
+ uprated brakes (brembo?)
+ new map
+ custom mats, seats and whatever else

and it will all be in warranty so for another 1-2k on top that's not a bad deal and more of a good one. To some people warranty matters...

I wouldn't buy one but that's not the point.
