looking at the poverty spec mk4 I think the mk5 has a good chance

with the road tax the way it is I think I may be in the Q for a white 3 door high powered derv and some ear muffs

The Fabia seems to use a 1.6 16v 115bhp along with its 1.6 16v 105bhp.
That means it's an FSI. Why can't the Ibiza get this at least.
There supposed to be the sporty brand:confused:

The 1.6FSI has been dropped in favor of the 1.4TfSI non-supercharged & that's VAG wide! Never heard of the 1.6FSI being sold in any Fabia!

While we're speculating... I say the 1.6CR ranges from 85-135HP. Then again how cool would it be to be marketed in base form as 88HP!!! The 2.0TDI-170HP still being pre-CR means that for the foreseeable future only the 2.0CR-140HP exists... Also doubt the 2.0T will see duty in the Ibiza both that it's aging as well as marketing strategy. What we will get is the newer more technically advanced 1.8TfSI. Wouldn't be surprised if the FR/Cupra saw the 1st 1.8TSI {That'd be Super+Turbo chargers with FSI technology!} say output 188-222HP till they crank it up might even make 250HP:-o!!!

I've seen that the new Ibiza (take a look at the official pictures) comes with Goodyear Excellence tyres. Are they good tyres?

Its nothing special. Just your average tires.

The 1.8TFSI will probably be the FR/Cupra engine again. The FR with 160hp and the cupra 200.

The 1.8TFSI is already available in 160hp form but not yet 200hp. However my sources say that in the near future all 2.0TFSI's will be only availble with 220hp and above in new applications, meaning we should see the 1.8TFSI with 200hp.

the 160hp 1.8TFSI does 35mpg.

Fingers crossed they'l drop the sport ;) make an FR, CUPRA and CUPRA R or something :D or make a lower powered sport allowing the FR not to be just improved handling and looks.

170tdi CUPRA and 200bhp CUPRA R would be immense or something similar.

harnessing that power into a standard small fwd hatch will be interesting... probably unfeasable from a manufacturer point of view?

They were manufacturer figures for the mk2 TT. the 20vt 150 manufacturer figures are also 35mpg.

The new engine is cleaner, pushes out more power for the same mpg and gives more torque with a more beautiful power curve. Even though its not much of a curve but rather a peak, straight line and then a descending peak

Cupra R will never be seen again... Has to do with a lawsuit Honda filed against Seat, Trademark infringement or something along those lines... Anyways the FR was the name change for the old Cupra designation & the Cupra name replaced Cupra R!!!

The 1.8TfSI is already produced in 160hp as well as 170HP power levels see above for speculation... Fuel mileage is sort of a mute point when comparing 2 different platforms Mk2 TT on PQ35 & the next Ibiza on PQ25 same as the FabiaII!!!

:roflmao:They may have filed a law suit but it's most likely for the name CUPRA R or what ever.
It can't be because seat is making a diesel car
You are exaggerating

skisbp ignore gizmondo he's talking rubbish again.

But I don't see how a lawsuit could have been used against sticking in an extra "R" on things if so wouldn't the have a problem with the jag s type r and jag xk r and every other car that has a r added on to it? I thought the dropped it when they decided to give everything organised names for the different levels of spec.
