MOT time :( always nervewrecking ! Do you think it will be ok ?

i can only go to 1 MOT station because there ramps have been built into the concrete of the workshop floor so they can actually get my car on the ramps to get under it . another one is it goes in for its MOT with rake :D  i need to fire in -45mm lowering springs at the rear , which it then fails on the head lamps pointing to low cause its nose down :cartman:

Im hopeing it should pass, its a 2003 car and everything is how it should be. The only thing is that the handbrake and rear brakes in general seem weak.

Although since my mum has been using the car for months and months ive not been insured on it. Im insuring it tomorrow for a while though and ill sort out the brakes and then takje it for its MOT next friday hopefully.

Its never had a good long run for ages so it will be getting one at the weekend and my TDi will have a week or so fest :)

SO im looking forward to getting to drive my 1,0S again :D

wont work . ive now delt with 3 arosas with this problem . its the wiper motor itself thats collapsed in on itself . when you take the boot cover off to see the wiper motor there are two tiny little holes on the black plastic mount where the hose goes into the wiper motor . thats where the water is pishing out of . theres no way to block it up and you need to replace the motor .

Just watch out cause all the cars i have fixed that problem on then 10seconds later developed the problem of the washer pipe splitting behind the door cards / interior trim in the back

Ah dont say that! Or thats my £30 down the drain!

I went (50) miles to the seat dealer for the fixing kit which should have been intoday. However it wont be in till 3rd of march now as its on back order!

I have taken my motor apart and found that the brass pipe which should be connetcted to the shaft of the wiper and the black jet nozzel has torn off! Which means the water is now coming out of those two small holes you mentioned.

So the kit is supposed to fix this problem and it comes with a new shaft, jet etc etc.

I did price a new motor but thats like £77 with discount so thats quite a bit and my motor otherwise is pefeect.

So im hopeing it will work.

But if you know for sure that it wont work then please let me know and i will cancel my order and get my money back :) Since once i have it i carnt retunr it!

:) Thanks for the link GreenGoddess :)

Mine looks a little different to that, the motor looks bigger too.

I think ill hold out till the 3rd of march for my fixing kit to arive and see if it fixes it. Id rather that than get a second hand motor and have the same problem 6 months later.

So yeah im back to driving my 1.0S for a week (as well as my TDi).

I really love my little 1.0! I forget how nippy it is, i mean its obviously slow compared to my TDi but its not bad for a 1.0

Its so chuckable too being much lighter. I forget what its like to drive :)

:D:D:D

that motor looks like the right one just glancing at it

on a side note , cheers alex . the arosa will be there but its in bits .... dont know if you remember about 2 weeks ago a chunk of tarmac went through the front bumper , yeah that wasnt *that* bad . Tonight i was driving along a dual carridge way with a car on my left , i see appearing in the distance a mcdonalds bag and cup on the road , me being me didnt see anything wrong with some papers so i thought it would be ok to go over it and its just paper . How wrong was i , some barsteward had put part of a f*cking breeze block in a mcdonalds bag and its went straight through the bumper . the police had to close part of the road so i could jack the car up to get the brick out .....

the splitter has totally bought the barn and its got a section about a foot wide missing from it , the exhaust flexi and down pipe sheild are totally gubbed and i need to re-plastic weld other parts ARGH!!!!

Not a good week for Viv :( I have had to buy a new Cat and an instrument cluster unit. The cluster was a nightmare to find and after 3 days of phoning everywhere I managed to source one yesterday for the Princely sum of £105 for a used unit ! So this week I am without my car while I wait for the cluster to turn up. Have also ordered a green dash bulb so am waiting for that to come too. Might as well change that when the cluster goes back in. Fingers crossed it is the cluster that is the cause of my speedo issues.

Tax is due on my TDi this month.

Think im going to tax it today before the budget tomorrow!

Last year i did the same, taxed it before the budget, they then dropped the tax to £35 and i paid £50 the day before.

I carnt see if going down again so im going to pay my £35 today :)

Still not got round to MOT'ing my 1.0 yet, it runs out on the 20th too, need to get that done this weekend!

Soooo nice, the cupra fronts ar emuch better than the normal non cupras too [B)]

Thats well over three times the power of your arosa, how will you cope!

I take it its a 1.9TDi 180 then, not a 1.8T?

I went in my mates new ibiza TDi FR on saturday, soo much torque, can only imagine what a cupra is like, the FR was having enough trouble putting its power down, never mind the cupra

Nice [B)]
