Hi everyone,

My car (Ibiza 1.9 TDI sport) has come up for a 50k service which i am going to do myself. I need to find out what service parts need replacing and what needs checking etc.
I have searched on here but could only find info on 40k services.

Where is the best place to buy service items from? is it worth buying them from dealers or a local motor factors? does anyone know the prices of the service items from dealers? Also what is the best make oil to use?

Thanks

I bought the car about 7 months ago, the service book is stamped up but there are no invoices indicating what was done. The car is a 52 plate, Cheers

Right is should be due the following:
oil and filter and bung
Cambelt and tensioner change due at 80000 kms or 49709 miles
Brakefluid change(every 2 years) including clucth fluid
Air Filter
Pollen Filter
Fuel Filter
all brakes inspected and cleaned
lights levels tyre's and pressures checked
check all engine bay for leaks etc etc etc
all brake and fuel lines inspected
inspect all ribbed belts
check gearbox oil level and quality and replace if reqd
check all interior light's switches seat and seatbelt security
check all wiper blades jets for function
check all suspension and linkage bolts and nuts for security/play (especially drag links)
just a damn good check over basically
thats what i do on on a service with this mileage
when changing the cambelt repalce the tensioner and water pump whilst yyour there otherwise youll be in ther in 6 months or less to change it.
ive always used genuine parts even on ny own cars you cant go wrong with them

you will need specialist locking tools to do the cambelt, dont try to do it!

then yup 80000 kms
if you inspected it now it would show signs of cracking and wear on the edges
seen some alhambras with 35,000 on in a really bad state and had to be changed otherwis you know what happens:(
