The pollen filter is mounted vertically under the glovebox - it's so far into the car i can't imagine this could be wet. When i got my Ibiza my pollen filter was completely blocked with leaves and cleaning it helped massively but didn't cure my steaming up problems.
After vag.com-ing the car i found out that i had 2 faulty stepper motors in the ventilation system. I'd guess V68 is either shorted out or just faulty in Danmay's car.
That motor controls the flap which closes the recirculate flap on the vent system. Apparently it's quite common on Ibiza's and Fabia's? When it stops working it effectively jams the car in recirculate mode.
Changing V68 in my car certainly sorted the problem of steaming up stupidly quickly out (and cured the fault on the controller).
Hope this helps!
