Horrendous Steaming!

The pollen filter is mounted vertically under the glovebox - it's so far into the car i can't imagine this could be wet. When i got my Ibiza my pollen filter was completely blocked with leaves and cleaning it helped massively but didn't cure my steaming up problems.

After vag.com-ing the car i found out that i had 2 faulty stepper motors in the ventilation system. I'd guess V68 is either shorted out or just faulty in Danmay's car.

That motor controls the flap which closes the recirculate flap on the vent system. Apparently it's quite common on Ibiza's and Fabia's? When it stops working it effectively jams the car in recirculate mode.

Changing V68 in my car certainly sorted the problem of steaming up stupidly quickly out (and cured the fault on the controller).

Hope this helps!

I need the aircon on to clear my windows to. Its not cold thought because its set at 19degrees. Its a bit annoying really seeing as its costing extra to clear the window!

i have this problem too. really thick condensation on the inside so have to wipe it with my hand and the other day i noticed that the rear passenger footwell was soaking wet and underneath the caroet aswell so compressed it with towels and used a hair dryer on it but stil a bit wet.
what could have caused my carpet to get wet and any advice how to dry it out completley

i've had this on my mk2 ibiza today, properly soaked inside.

Trying to source the problems, i've possibly got a burst seal somewhere as condensation was bad before, now the bad weather is here its lying on the rear footwells.

Got the same thing on my brand new Ibiza, once I get in the car in the mornings its all steamed up, quick blast of the air con and it goes but am a bit surprised a brand new car is like this.

Mate had a leak into his Polo when the drain holes got gunged up and it soaked his passenger side carpet for weeks. He bought a set of drying crystals from a Do It All (stuff you use in caravans or lofts) and it helped after the usual mopping of carpets etc. His had got so bad, it failed the next MOT as the tester could put holes in the body work with a little mallet, needed 2 sheets of metal to sort it out!

Checked your rear windscreen hose is still connected? as mine flooded my boot when it came unclipped = lots of condensation until i used a hairdryer on the felt / dried the spare wheel well.

The car is literally a week and a bit old now but the rear wiper seems to work. No carpets or anything are damp just the car fogs up briefly when going to work in the morning. Clears with the AC quick enough just wasn't expecting it that's all with a brand new car.

Just have your fan blowing constantly on setting 1 with medium temperature at all times and it should never condense....

However if you are still getting it, il take it to the stealers, the end of the day using AC rapes your MPG.

I got in my car last week after not having used it for a couple of days and had loads of condensation on the inside of the windscreen. Had no idea why until I went in the boot the following day and it was sopping wet. We had had persistent rain for ages so guess it must have got in somewhere, the boot seal was a bit kinked but wouldnt have expected it to let so much in. Then yesterday noticed tide marks on the rear seats so looks like it flooded the whole rear end of the car  smells a bit now too
