Dont forget the dmf
You can get the sachs clutch and dmf from GSF for around £350 plus vat. Make sure you get the release bearing done too.
I waited till I had replaced both clutch and dmf before I had mine remapped by Jamie

Shall be at JBS 2mrw having a SACHS and maybe new flywheel too.

£991 for everything inc VAT & Fitting.

I'm getting it done ASAP cos its winter and I'd rather buy now and repay the overdraft back whilst everyone is sat at home feezing.

By the time summer comes I will have paid for it all and can use it to its full on those hot sticky roads :D

Release bearing is about £42. Any good place that does your clutch *should* replace the OEM release bearing for you.

I've been quoted £690 for a SACHS clutch, release bearing and fitting.

OR

£991 for the above with a new dual mass flywheel.

How many miles has your car done?

GSF car parts are a national chain so there should be one near you Dave
If you want to keep the cost down just go for the standard replacement sachs clutch but at 114k you should defo replace the dmf.
Expect to pay around £600/700 for the standard gear which at 180bhp should be fine( it is on mine but its early days yet at 2k since the map) Watch those tyres wear out though!
Glynn
Ps I replaced my clutch at 110k as I though it probably didnt have that long left but it was only half worn and I am not kidding on that. The dmf was suspect though.

Fitting a standard clutch to a remapped car that has already got a slipping clutch is basically a bloody stupid thing to do. It`s not bhp that kills your clutch but the torque and a stock clutch isn`t up to the job. Some people get lucky and the clutch lasts but most people have to replace the stock clutch a few thousand miles after a remap. For a couple hundred pound more you can have an uprated clutch that will more then likely last as long as your car or if you are really tight for money just replace the drive disc for an uprated organic one. I would on a car thats done 110k miles replace the DMF as well just to be on the safe side.

Disagree about it being stupid. Clutches fail after a remap as the state of it prior to obviously was not up to it. Standard clutches are rated at 300lb ft arent they? The sp map is not over 300lb ft anyway. Daves car has done 115k I believe so he probably is not in the race to extract 230 hp and 320lb ft from his engine.
Sorry if you dont agree this is just my view and not an arguement.

Mine was remapped with 5k on the clock. Clutch could be provoked into slipping straight away (ie floor it a 30mph in 4th) but driving properly it lasted until about 27k before being unusable. Don't put a standard clutch back in - at least uprate the friction plate but on 114k I'd be doing the DMF too.

You will have to split the car again and fit a new one. DMF is about £200 to buy but takes extra time to fit and needs to be fitted and balanced properly. For cheapish prices on parts try HERE

@glynnd Don`t worry mate i don`t come on here to flame or get into petty arguments with people. There is no set in stone way of doing things but the stock clutch isn`t very good and a quick search about clutch slip will bring up hundreds of people who have had stock clutches slip on standard none remapped cars without everyone else who has had a remap and then had clutch slip later on.

Have to agree, no point in putting a new standard clutch into a car that's been remapped and is alreasy causing slip.

People talk about the TDI clutches being safe up to 300lb/ft, well I've had two remapped PD130s that have slipped below that figure. Luck of the draw really. You'd be wasting a lot of cash to put a new standard one in, only to find it slips, and there's a high chance it will. You might as well pay the cash on an uprated friction disc and know it's been done properly once and for all.
The other option is to get your map knocked back so it produces very slightly less torque around the rev range where it slips, might only need knocking back by a small amount which you'd hardly notice. Would be an awful lot cheaper.

All good information thanks guys :) at the moment its only slipping when i boot it like, so takin it easy till i can get another £200 saved up then can afford a new clutch, in theory, where it slipps will it feel fater because its not losein power where it slips?

Allards do a friction disc for about £175 IIRC, fit that with a stock DMF ( expensive as above) stock pressure plate, stock thrust bearing ( you can get those parts in an OE clutch kit which is about £80). My DMF was completely screwed when they took it out and i'm not sure the replacement is fairing much better.

Bearing in mind the labour, it's a job worth doing once and worth doing properly.
